Anyway, once I said something about how I had been making soup that day, and it took me much longer than I expected, making me late for work or a class or something. He gave me a weird look and asked how long it took me. I replied, "Oh, two hours." His eyes bugged out and he said, "How does it take you that long to open a can and microwave the contents in a bowl?" Also, over the summer, you definitely need to try B+H's cold cucumber soup. It's somewhat similar to a thinned-out tzatziki, and it's amazing. Also, Veselka's "christmas borscht" is great too (beets and greens).
