I'm watching Glee as I write this.  We were this close to making it through an episode without Gwyneth Paltrow singing, but no such luck - she got the sweeping camera shots as well.  *sigh*  She doesn't have a horrible voice - I mean, she hits all the right notes but her voice just isn't pleasant to listen to.  It's just bland, imo.

I've never seen Stargate! But that guy is cute. And I do love archeologists. LOL

That chick... Vala, was it? I think I saw someone using her pics as Shada on some L/M, K/S story I read once.

Oh, and Luke Skywalker Girls FTW! :)

Archaeologists are awesome :D

Yeah, that's Vala (Claudia Black) - actually, she would make a good Shada now that I think of it!

Who doesn't love Luke Skywalker?

I tried SG, but could never get into it. Not even when Ben Browder joined the cast and he's one of my fav.

I'm still pouting about losing the last Dr. Who. *sigh*

Ben Browder joining the show made me go back and watch Farscape - he is awesome :D

I actually really like the new Doctor - and I never thought that would happen!

Delayed comment here, but OMG yes to all of this. SG1 is such a great show, but it's hard to sell to other people because there's so much of it and, well, it did have more than its fair share of bad to mediocre episodes. Completely agree on the Sam/Jack -- it always felt a bit tacked-on to me. Doesn't help that virtually no effort whatsoever went into actually developing the relationship in a way that made sense for the characters.

And seconding the Daniel love. He's such a great character, both in terms of his growth and in his willingness to take a stand. (Generally much to Jack's despair...) I really need to re-watch this show.

I feel that SG stands up well on re-watch, although yes the plots are recycled and some episodes are just dire, but I feel the characters always come through - just the change and growth in all of them through seasons 1-10 will always make it watchable for me.

Sam/Jack felt like fanfic, to me. From what I gather, the writers were really invested in it but it just didn't come across that way on screen. It was just lazy, didn't make sense (I mean, yes, they have a strong friendship but Sam in love/pining over Jack? Really?) and didn't go anywhere.
