Are you ever working on a fic and come up with a line to use and then gone - 'Oh shit, I'm not sure if I really came up with that or if it has just lodged itself in my memory from another fic I've read

I haven't read enough of the most recent L/M fare to be absolutely certain, but I don't remember that line. You might be thinking of obaona's Do You Believe In Love?, but that line isn't in the story and I'd bet you're taking the concept in a different direction than obaona did. Besides, while I don't think it's a cliche, the concept of Luke having given up on love and Mara not believing in it to begin with is a concept that's been around from the very beginning of L/M fanfic, for all I can tell, and rightfully so. It's a very logical way to take their characters.
In other words, I don't think you're using anything that's not in the fanfic public domain, so to speak. Also, it sounds like a story I very much want to read. :D
Girl, that happened to me with MOAM just the other day. And it turned out the line WAS from another fic after I did some investigation. I'm so glad I caught it! Now, this--doesn't sound familiar to me, but I'll try and look around. And you're working on a L/M?? :D That's exciting!!
Yes, I am working on L/M! Can you believe it? Well, actually it's been sitting around partly written for a while, I just got the urge to start working on it again.

Thanks for the advice - I figured it was probably just general L/M line of thinking, but wanted to make sure, just in case!
