"I'm Doctor Martha Jones, who the hell are you?"

I was a bit meh on the whole Sontaran storyline, but really liked this weeks episode (and from the preview, I thought I would hate it)

Top marks for surprising me with the origin of the 'daughter'.  I may be dense, but I actually thought it was going to be a long-lost child rather than a ready-made soldier from the Doctor's DNA.

Donna, I love you ( Read more... )

I thought Who this week was a lot of fun. Jenny's creation surprised me too, I was expecting more of a traditional origin for her. :p I don't think the Doctor's family is ever fully explained even in Classic Who - he started out travelling with his granddaughter, Susan Foreman, and though I think there's some contention in fandom as to whether she really was his biological offspring, I don't think the show has ever indicated otherwise (though I'm not exactly a Classic Who aficionado myself). He also mentioned being a dad once in S2's Fear Her, but didn't expand on the topic.

I thought Mara's Hath friend was going to pop back up, because, um, he totally had gills, and the water or sludge or whatever didn't look that dense. :(

I really liked Donna in this episode - she got to kind of push the Doctor towards accepting Jenny, as well as figuring out the number/date puzzle.

That 5 things meme looks hard - I'm not sure I could settle on 5 for some of them. :p

I'd really like to see the Doctor's backstory expanded on a bit more, especially now they've opened the door, so to speak, on his family.

I thought the Hath was going to come back, too. I guess it would have been to much to have both the Hath and Jenny resurrect although I would have preferred the Hath.

I've always liked Donna but as each episode goes by I find more and more things to love about her, especially as all of her hidden (and unexpected) talents come into play. "Good with numbers" isn't something you'd usually associate with a character like Donna, and I like that she continues to surprise me.
