Kahlan felt the heaviness of her body as it seemed to sink deeper into the mattress with every exhalation. She tried not to think about, well, a lot of things. About the smell of both Cara and herself mingled in the bedding, the fact they had both experienced pleasure there beneath the same sheets, how they would then sleep side by side through

I love Cara's description of feeling Kahlan's confessor magic.
I'm tearing up a little: “Then there is just an emptiness where the magic used to settle. I feel the absence of love even more profoundly.”
I'm tearing up seriously over Cara's discussion of the bed situation and Kahlan being lonely and their relationship. I could quote the whole thing.

And I'm glad you liked my descriptions of Kahlan's magic, and the effect is has on her and Cara even in the next room.
Thanks so much for reading-- and reviewing!! Sorry about the delayed reply, btw! I'll do better in the future!

Glad you liked this chapter, and how their relationship is progressing-- let me know how I'm doing as I move them along?
Thanks for reading, and especially for reviewing! (sorry for the delay in my reply! I'll do better in future!)

I'm really glad you liked this last scene, I had my worries about it-- Cara isn't usually the 'talker' out of the two of them, so knowing that she had some important things to say to Kahlan... I dunno! But I'm happy you liked it!
And sorry for the length of time between your review and my reply- I'll do better in future; it was just a crazy week!

This one in particular so profoundly shows the "in love" part of the equation. Such regard and respect for each other. I know it's been mentioned before, but it's so unique and refreshing to see all this happen before the passion. It's true "soul mate" material. :)
“And yours, Mother Confessor,” She said as though also feeling the need to remind, though such things had never been uttered before. “For as long as this winter drags on, this bed is yours. This land is yours, this palace is yours, these rooms are yours, and this bed is yours. I am here by invitation. That you say this bed is mine is a gift. The least I can do is make you welcome in it.”
I just wanna pet that whole "speech". In fact, Cara is so present for Kahlan during this whole thing. She really has grown so freakin much.
I am not afraid of you Confessor, I will not shy away from you. And you needn’t order me to have me follow.
Well, there's a vow if ever I heard one. Lovely.

And I'm happy that I can show Cara's maturity in a way where it is believable to you. And that her devotion to Kahlan is palpable, even if the words themselves are not said aloud by our favorite Mord'Sith!
Thank you so much for the review! And thanks for reading! Sorry about the delay in my reply-- but I didn't want you to think I'd forgotten or didn't appreciate it; I love to hear your insights! =-)

I'm glad you liked this one, I had my reservations, but I'm glad to hear people liked it! *whew!* certainly a relief! And that you still find Cara to be realistic despite how much I've shown her grown over her time in Aydindril, that is a relieving compliment- thank you for that, it is very encouraging!
And thank you for reading-- and reviewing, too! It means a lot; don't let the late reply fool you, I really mean that!
