SPN Shenanigans and Such

Feb 16, 2010 18:21

Unsurprisingly, I didn't make the deadline for my DWB fic, BECAUSE I CAN'T FOCUS OR WRITE QUICKLY TO SAVE MY LIFE. *Ahem* That being said, loverstar, my winner, has been gracious enough to grant me time, and I'm still plugging away at it and hope to have it done within the week or so.

I'm actually excited about the SPN renewal because while I'm enjoying ( Read more... )

muses_circle just put up a post that reflects how I feel about THAT development. Blech.

Where did she post it? Open_road? I was going to go reply over there but it was deleted. But, I was going to say that I definitely get the lack of enthusiasm. Some of Gamble's tendencies are highly annoying, and I will hold the epic failure of IKWYDLS over her for a good, long time. But in comparison to others: *cough*Kripke, Edlund*cough* Her eps feel closer to old SPN to me.

But, my expectations are lowered and I'm just looking for any kind of silver lining I can find that'll let me enjoy the show again.

She put it in her own LJ.

I can't muster up much excitement because Gamble's been said to have been the one responsible for the more religious shift in the show's mytharc. Based on what I've seen with the writers' involvement (who's giving interviews and on what) the past two years, I'm of the opinion she's been in charge of the show anyway. This is just making it official official.

I can't find it for some reason, but it could be me being slow. : /

Ah, I didn't know that about Gamble, although I did notice she's been as vocal as Kripke for a long time. I suppose a lot of how this will turn out depends on the degree they disconnect from the apoca-arc. If all the destiny/war on earth/etc. stuff is finished, I imagine it will be harder to work in the religious bent in general. Hopefully anyway.

I'm more waiting for the angel/apocalypse blah blah to end. And now with Gamble, who is also of the Sam'n'Dean loving variety stepping in, I hope this all bodes well for S6 being more of a return to form. I shall keep the fingers crossed.

Amen. =D

I really am not difficult to please, lol. I can swallow a LOT of flaws if a few key things are done right.

So come on, Gamble! You gave us that damn epic love story quote, you better live up to it. *Shakes fist menacingly*

What I said to benitle"

TBQH I'm really annoyed that there's this season 6. :/ Because I'm freakin' done with the show. I'm not watching. The only episode I'm even vaguely interested in is the zombie episode because characters I actually like are coming back.

But as it stands, season 5 doesn't make sense, season 4 made only a little sense, and it's become a castiuseless fanservice show with dean as the supporting character and sam as his imaginary friend who does nothing except do "bad things".

So, yeah, I'm a little just not caring anymore. And then they say 'OOOOH, LOOK AT THE SHINY SEASON 6 THAT MIGHT JUST NOT BE SO FAIL, GET YOUR HOPES UP, GET BACK INTO THE FANDOM THAT FUCKED YOU UP AND OVER LIKE YOU WERE A CHEAP WHORE OOOOOOH!'

And frankly that kinda irritates me. :/

But then again I'm just a bitter fan who's left fandom and show. I'm quite happily revisiting my very barest of fandom roots---TREK, and I love it there. :] And still pretty much where I stand on it. I never thought that you'd be more optimistic about the show than I ( ... )

Lol, 'tis a strange situation. But, as I've mentioned to you before. I wasn't heavy into a fandom before SPN and I probably won't be after SPN. THIS ONE NEEDS TO FUCKING WORK FOR ME AGAIN. Seriously, when I sit and think about how much of my online time is dedicated to SPN or SPN fandom, it's somewhat scary.

As much as I want him to DIAF, I don't think Castiel is that huge of a problem (although fanservice in general is). Yes, he was shoehorned into this season and if he is in S6, it will be an even BIGGER shoehorning of epic proportions, but honestly, if they get the boys tight again and spend some time looking at BOTH of them, that's huge for me. And the lack of the lamepocalypse is icing.

It may very well end up blowing hardcore, but until I have no more reason to hope, I'm going to.

She looks waaaay too much like Stephenie Meyer for me to trust her. *eyes her suspiciously*

(Just kidding. I'm...sort of optimistic, I guess. As long as the apocaplot is done with, I can live with most things. I do kind of live in fear that they're going to "settle the boys down" somehow, and ew. No thank you.)

I am convinced that one of them is the evil twin of the other.

Oh, wait. That would mean one of them would have to be GOOD. Ooops.

*Cracks up*

But I will never unsee the resemblance now. D:

Yeah, I'm just looking for things to be excited about. If the apocaplot is out, I can swallow most everything else too. TBH, with Castiel it's the weird overhype he gets that annoys me more than the character itself. I just don't get it. : /

Sera will incur a fandom mutiny if she tries to settle them down, of that I'm relatively sure. 'Cause just NO.

OMG HIIII.

I just want this to be a horror show again. The angel/apocalypse stuff was exciting at first, but it's been dragging for a while. This is mostly because nothing is happening. There is talk of stuff happening, fear of stuff happening, preventative measures of stuff happening, time travel, but NO STUFF HAPPENING!

So either Show should make said stuff happen, or they should just revert back to the horror format, which is awesome. I don't really give a fuck about Sam'n'Dean anymore, which might sound sad, but it actually allows me to enjoy the show more, so I believe that's good thing.

P.S. OMG HAVE YOU BEEN WATCHING VD? It has improved x10 since the hiatus. I will no longer call it cheesy and be shameful of watching now.
