This is a really nice character sketch, and you show the depth of feelings between them and the uncertainty of war very clearly. Very nice piece.

You build tension into this scene with the detailed backstory for first one character and then the other, seen in relation to him, and there is so much talk of war and violence that it is a measure of their strength and balance one to the other, that their meeting is a moment of calm assurance...and then a new dance begins which we are not allowed to see, but are invited to imagine. An intriguing scene.
