This very much has the feel of a survivor's tale. I thoroughly enjoyed your take on this fateful scene, and I love the way you brought such obscure characters to life. In particular, I loved the unspoken way you ended it, with both going their separate ways. Even the narrator seemed reluctant to voice the exact mood, which was the perfect touch.

Thank you. I'm glad the ending worked. They may not have bridged the gap between them entirely, but at least they found some understanding and perhaps, in the longer term, healing.

An excellent way of showing that courage and fear are actually two sides of the same coin! This comes across as a very believable conversation, and it sheds a nice light on a little known corner of canon..

It was an interesting corner of canon to poke around in again:)

This is a very wonderful and vivid piece. Your characterization was spot on here, and your perspectives really got to the heart of the story in an effective manner. Nicely done!

I do like how Nolondil assumes Estelmo is courageous because he fought, but was actually scared.

Thnak you:) As he was sent away, he probably feels a coward for 'running', so it's an obvious assumption to make.
