Sign Up for Lost HOHOHO: The Lost Holiday Fic Exchange!
Yes, it's only Halloween, but it's time to get Lost HOHOHO underway!
Sign ups are now open for Lost HOHOHO, the Lost fandom's holiday fic exchange! You write a story for someone - someone writes a story for you - holiday cheer abounds! It’s that simple!
Sign ups will be open for only one week, October 31 - November 8, so don't hesitate! Sign up now!
If you sign up for Lost HOHOHO, you will be assigned to write one story for another participant, and you will receive one story written especially for you. This year, for the first time, we will be having a true “Secret” Santa, in that each participant's fic will be posted anonymously by the mods, so no one will know who their Secret Santa is until the author reveal on January 1.
You submit three different requests; your Santa may write any one of them. Things you may want to include in your requests: pairing or characters, a scenario, genre, prompt, object or something else that will spark a story. Feel free to give guidance to your Santa, but try to refrain from detailing an entire story in your prompt. Your requested fic needn’t involve Christmas or the holidays unless that's what you want. All pairings/ratings are welcome.
If your requests are highly unusual and/or specific it is unlikely they will easily be matched. If you’ve always really wanted to read a Locke/Karl vampire AU MPREG fic Hurley/Shannon genderswap BDSM wing!porn fic, that’s great, but please think carefully before requesting it here. If you do decide to make a very unusual request, it would be a good idea to make your other two requests ones that are easy to accommodate. Please try to make your requests something that another writer might reasonably be expected to fulfill; this will help ensure that you are not disappointed.
When you sign up to Lost HOHOHO, you are committing to write a story as a gift for someone. Due to the seasonal nature of this project, there is a hard deadline (Dec. 15th). If you don't think you will be able to write your story before the due date, please don't sign up. If you run into unexpected difficulties, please contact the mods as soon as possible. Defaulting on your obligation means someone who has contributed will not receive a gift or a pinch-hitter writer will have to fulfill your obligation for you. If you sign up and then drop off the radar without delivering a story, then you will be banned from taking part in future challenges at this comm.
Stories should be 1000 words or more. There is no upper limit.
