Late as usual, but I still want to make some comment on the passing of one of the idols of my youth: the late, great Michael Jackson ( Read more... )

that's beautifully said!

and hahaha 3T, oh my God I had forgotten about them :D you're right...they were totally just famous because of their looks and their uncle haha

and funnily I do pride myself to have been a BSB fan from the beginning, even when they were unknown haha...I'm not sure if that's a good or a bad thing, though haha
but I completely understand your going against the trend :)

Thank you!

My 3T obsession only lasted less than 2 years, after which 'Titanic' came out and I immediately abandoned them for Leonardo DiCaprio. Which is a step up, in a way, because at least people today still know who he is. :)

Oh, I didn't mean to slight the BSB! Their music is rather catchy. My best friend in those years was a huge fan, and we were always comparing the two, so I heard a lot of them.

It's all just sad and tragic:(

Though I have to admit that I have never been a fan of his and he was already more known for being "freaky" than being a musician when I got old enough to get into music and I have a hard time understanding all this media coverage, you know?

Yes, he was a great artist-probably the best, but does that mean he's more important than everything else that's going on in the world? It might be an unpopular view but I am starting to get a bit fed up with all the coverage. Let the man rest in peace!

Ah well, he resonates with a lot of people, you know? I don't think people are really making such a fuss over the death of one strange, unhappy little man, but rather what he stood for. His music is a part of many people's lives: people like me, who grew up with it, and people in their thirties and forties, who danced to it in their youth and maybe even fell in love to it. I think for many people it feels like a part of their youth died with him. I mean, how many artists today are still the icon of an era spanning over two decades? More like two weeks or so, hehe. ;)
