Fuckity fuck fuck fuck.

Well, I'm in the hospital. It started with facial pain that kept getting worse and this morning, I finally couldn't take it anymore. Of course, when I got to the ER, they discovered my blood pressure was ludicrously high. Seriously, ludicrously high. I've been admitted, and it sucks. They think the pain is caused by the blood pressure (did I ( Read more... )

I'm sending you penguins to distract you. I'd send you the healing piggies, but they're plush and would just make you feel hot most likely.

Ack about the pain and the stratospheric b.p. I understand why you're focused on the PAAAAIIIIIIN; too bad they don't get it.

As for the morphine, it's no big deal. I had it after my surgery and - hey - I'm still me. I hope someone can find out where your pain came from, other than evil outer space, that is.

Delicate air-hugs only.

Penguins rock! Especially for cheering up and distraction. *nods*

Well, of course it would take more than a little bit of morphine to stop you, darlin'!! :-D I just worry about taking such heavy-duty medicines, but I suppose that that's the point. The doctor's wouldn't be handing them to me if I didn't need them. It's not like they give out morphine for fun. *shrug*

Yeah, because severe pain doesn't cause your blood pressure to go through the roof. Sheesh!

Glad you have an awesome nurse-man, though.

Feel better. *smootch*

I know, right? Especially when I'd been in pain for days already. *shrugs* Plus, I've always been really responsive to stress and such.

He rocked! I hope he comes back today, although all my nurses have been really great. I'm not entirely sure about my doctors. One of them was telling me how he'd enjoyed studying art, but it was so structured. *blinks* Wow, totally unlike medicine, right?

Thank you, darlin'!

Oh, no! I do hope they'll find out the cause of both the high blood pressure and the pain, and work on it effectively *at once*!
You're not there alone, are you?
I take it as a good-ish sign that you manage to post.
I wish that very very soon you'll be well again, and the only relevant topic left from this ordeal will be written in fics about morphine effects... (***crosses fingers twice over***)

Well, they got my blood pressure mostly down and gave me a prescription for BP meds, but didn't do anything about the pain (except dope me up while I was there) because they felt the pain was a result of the high BP. I told them it wasn't, but they wouldn't listen. So... yeah. The pain is reduced, but still there and I really hope it doesn't just keep getting worse, like it did before. I have another doctor's appointment tomorrow, and I'm going to call and see if I can get in any sooner.

No, my mom and fiance took turns with me so I was only alone for a short time while the fiance went to fetch mom.

Hee! I could be stuck on the moon with a limited supply of oxygen and still manage to post so you guys could start calling NASA. ;-) Y'all are lucky fennishjournal caught the worst of the loopy-morphine babble and you were spared that! :-D

Thank you, sweetie! And you *totally* read my mind on the fic side of things! There may be a spate of drugged up Sherlock fic soon.... HEE!

I hope you feel better soon. Thank goodness they discovered what was wrong.

Unless you have a history of opioid use à la Sherlock, the morphine should be fine. I was on painkillers, including morphine at first, for six months following surgery for a broken collarbone. And no dependence followed. Is that what you're worried about? I think the risk is greatly exaggerated. And I am saying this so that you will take the meds and not be in pain, because that is what they are for. No need to suffer.

In the meanwhile, think of all the ACD that you can read!

Love,
Emma

Thank you!! There's still pain, but I have a doctor's appointment so maybe now that the BP is taken care of they'll focus on the pain issue. And, it's much reduced, so that's something.

Actually, as far as morphine goes, I just don't like being loopy. I like my brain too much to enjoy it. *nods* That's why Sherlock's morphine use has never really made sense to me. But, OUCH!! A broken collarbone? That must have been *awful*!! I'm sure the morphine was a relief!

Also, the morphine didn't help the pain all that much, frankly. Which is what really worries me. Even though it's at manageable levels now, I'm worried it's going to keep getting worse, and if they don't figure out a cause of it (and keep blaming my BP or whatever) they may not be able to treat it. I can't live with that kind of pain!

Oh, I wish I had been capable of reading! I was too out of it for that, but it would have been preferable to the spate of crappy TV I watched instead. Although, katekat1010 was right, and Suits is *very* slashy. Plus, I am now *dying* to see ( ... )
