A random meme stolen from a_phoenixdragon:

Choose 5 OTP’s without looking at the questions behind the cut first, then tag friends to do the same.

My Five OTPS
1) Silver/Sapphire/Steel (S&S)
2) Emma Swan/Regina Mills (OUaT)
3) Fifth Doctor/Tegan Jovanka (DW)
4) Ruth Evershed/Harry Pearce (Spooks)

I wants to squish you for all of these answers!! Some of the pairings I don't know (I've gleaned what I can from your posts, but my knowledge is still sadly lacking, eep!), but I enjoyed reading them because I have just a touch of that familiarity ( ... )

Lemme tell you right from the start: lightbulbs are an actual Romantic Thing. It's true. In a metaphorical way. And yet a practical one in the first question.

Oh, yes! I was being slightly flippant, but it's an incredibly well-constructed set of eps, S4 of Public Eye. That scene between them comes exactly in the middle of the episode, Mrs Mortimer is the only person in the ep who treats Frank as a person rather than as a prisoner on parole, and the light bulb thing is not only metaphorical, but it also involves them touching each other, making her not only the first woman he's spoken to properly in a year, but also the first woman's he's touched in that time, and therefore what follows may or not be partly in reaction to that. And a lot of the other eps, and especially the never-said-out-loud relationship between them is exactly as sharply written. It's not subtle, but it is exceptionally well-constructed. (I feel like sitting there taking notes from the Roger Marshall school of how-to-write-for-TV while watching some days ( ... )

Actually, I love the essay! Gives me just that touch more background and helps me see it. And yeah, especially for the time period, that was some SERIOUSNESS right there! Wow...

It would be awesome, but every fandom seems to have its flaws (except for DW and any flaws DW has can be hand-waved with a cryptic timey-wimey remark). Just wish OUaT's didn't lie in the fic-ships...where the biggest strength SHOULD lie. Arrrghhh.

Something...should be done about this. I am undecided as to what/how, though, as I'm sure any fic I contribute could likely be a smear across the face of OUaT fandom and lynching (as in being-lynched) has never been what one would call a hobby of mine.

Aw, glad you didn't mind the essay. I went on about Public Eye for about six months solid, back in the day, and no doubt annoyed everyone! I try to be better. If you are interested, though, I did make a fanvid to explain everything better, and that worked and I shut up a bit after that! :-)

I'm sure any fic I contribute could likely be a smear across the face of OUaT fandom and lynching (as in being-lynched) has never been what one would call a hobby of mine.

I'm sure no fic of yours would be that! Honestly, your writiing is much too good to ever be regarded as a smear. Especially not in a popular fandom with plenty of terrible writing going on!! ;-p Weird comments are probably a given, though - even I got one for my strange Emma/Regina fic I wrote. The thing with OUaT seems to be that if you write for a juggernaut pairing (pretty much Emma/regina or Rumple/Belle, you get attention, but if you write gen or any other ship, pretty much it's *crickets* and you can write whatever you want!)

The more posts of yours I see, the more I want to read Sapphire and Steel.

Ha ha, that is totally my evil plot! Everyone who likes TV SF and doesn't mind watching old TV should watch S&S! It's the weirdest, slowest, most original thing I've ever seen. :-)

And beyond? What kind of meme is this?

Seb steepled his fingers and gave the young woman on the other side
of the desk an encouraging smile.

"Now, we've been through your file," he said. "There's one last point to
clear up. This was your mobile phone lock screen?"

Osgood nodded at the image of the Tenth Doctor with Rose. "That's right."

"Why did you choose it?"

"I thought it looked sweet." Osgood reached instinctively for her inhaler,
before realising she'd never need it again. "Is it important?"

Seb nodded. "The Mistress is quite accommodating, as a rule. But
I'm afraid she takes a dim view of shipping."

I'm going to have to do this one! Although my choice of pairings for it clearly demonstrates, once and for all, that I do not remotely understand the concept of OTP. :)

Since my list demonstrates my clear inability to count to two as well, I don't think I can comment. ;-)

And, um, yes, an evil witch dropping out of the sky trying to bust up Regina's relationship is a) something that might happen in canon and b) as you say, something said evil witch would probably not live to regret. This is another meme that probably needs re-writing for the less seriously ship-minded.

Also, if an evil witch came out of the sky and tried to break up Regina's relationship, whatever relationship that might be, she's very likely to find herself out-evil-witched. :)
