Delgado!Master is the best of everything. ♥_♥ I... kind of may not have seen any of the other Masters because it will make me SADFACE that there never have been and never can be any multi-Master stories with him - I'd always be thinking what he'd have thunk of his successors. :-(
(Also, quite irrelevantly, I'm afraid I think of JJ as looking like him. Do you do that too, or is it just me? ;P)
 JJ is totally the Master, of course, but thanks to DbyA and the icon he had over there, he is the Ainley!Master. It suits him better. (There's only one Delgado.)
The Master watching the Clangers may be the best thing ever!!!!! Delgado was just perfect. I think the first Pertwee episode I watched was The Demons where he was a very good villain. I also love in Frontier in space when they are all sleeping together in the same cell and the Doctor offers him tea. It's such a tragedy he died.
I must admit I could NOT stand Sims as the master. Nowhere near as classy!
Yes, he really is just great. And The Clangers is just... wonderful. One of those random things that make 6 parters worthwhile, after all.
And, yes, I'm least keen on John Simm's incarnation - although, to be fair to him, they were clearly having his version be a deliberate mockery of Ten, so he pulled that off. But even though I do like him in LoM, he's just... well... no Delgado!!
Hello, I came across your lj while looking for David Collings pics(I made a few 'Dark Towers' ones at the weekend) and I had to comment as Roger Delgado's Master is one of my fave characters. Your post inspired me to start a post of things I've seen him in outside of Who, more than I thought. His Buccanneers eps, up at Internet Archive, are good fun.
Oh my goodness, you have DARK TOWERS SCREENCAPS!! You would think my epic collection of David Collings pics would be enough, but I am sad for the ones I can't get because I can't do screencaps via YouTube. *flail*
Also, Roger Delgado is great, yes. Once I've exhausted the archives of existing British TV with David Collings in, I should look for him next. I should really have beautiful sceencaps of Roger Delgado in my life. Although I might just lose time gazing at them adoringly, so maybe not. ;-)
Anyway, on the basis of you coming here looking for David Collings, plus liking important things like Roger Delgado, Doctor Who, and Blake's 7, I've friended you. Also partly because some of my David Collings screencaps are in flocked posts, I think. (I am all in favour of people having David Collings pics. I have lots, way more than I've posted if you ever want some for any reason.)
I'm glad you're excited about the Dark Towers screencaps, I shall have to re-edit & get Tracey in for you. I have Dark Towers on DVD (from a video)pm me & I can sort it if you want
( ... )
I use VLC player for getting screencaps - I can never work out how to do it any other way. So I can play DVDs on it, but not YouTUbe. (If you ever watch his surviving episode of Out of the Unknown - Level 7 on YouTube, I would love to see screencaps from that; it's the oldest thing I've seen him in [1967], and he's so young and his character is so very Doomed. :-D But, anyway, I have lots of pics, mustn't be greedy!!)
I think I'm not about to stop posting David Collings pics yet, don't worry! And my dedication to obscure old TV... well, I can't help it. It's all the BBC's fault. Well, sometimes it's ITV...
Anyway, welcome! LJ takes a little getting used to.
