That's so made me want to watch The West Wing again. But there's so much of it I can't face it because it'll just take over my life for months.

Heh, that's the problem (or the good thing?) about US shows, isn't it? You could just snatch an episode or two, I suppose.

The trouble is it'll start with an episode or two and then end being all of them as I remember how good it is.

Yeah, you're probably right.

Just one wouldn't hurt... Oh... Where did the year go? ;-)

OH MY GODS MY LOVE FOR THIS SHOW KNOWS NO BOUNDS. And that last clip is the BEST SCENE EVER I swear I melted right here on my couch the night it aired. Just. DIED.

I really, really, really need to find the time to watch this show again.

It's certainly my favourite Josh/Donna scene so far. They're pretty much indescribable as a TV couple. I am watching my way through the series via DVDs for the first time. I don't know what I'd do if I'd been actually watching for 5 years (I've just finished S5) in real time, and was still waiting for the two of them to get together! I might be ready to commit actual murder or something.

But yes, I had heard it was a good show, and I've found that to be more than true so far. I am totally hooked & now I need S6. :-)

Ah, see, as far as I'm concerned, the series ended after S4. I kept watching through about half of S6, and then just lost interest. The Sorkin-ness of it was gone, and it just seemed so bland to me as a result. I know plenty of people who made it the whole way through, though, so my experience is not necessarily representative!

Yeah, he is definitely conspicuous by his absence, but I have to see what happens to everyone. And S5 has certainly had its moments evens so.

I had hoped he might come back again, but I take it that's mere optimism, then?

I confess that I never caught on to the awesomeness of West Wing until the Toby-and-Josh-and-Donna-get-lost-on-the-campaign-trail episode. Then I couldn't believe what I had been missing out on. I've since seen the later seasons, but I'm still spotty on the earlier ones, and you've just reminded me that I really ought to go back and watch the whole thing from the beginning.

*nods* Yup. You really ought to. I've been thoroughly enjoying watching it so far.

Heh, I know that feeling - wait, is that what this show is like?! I did that with Jonathan Creek and a few others I forget. Getting to catch up isn't always easy, either.

Excellent choices! I love this show so much. I agree that it wasn't as good after Sorkin left, but a mediocre episode of The West Wing is still better than 99% of TV drama.

Yes, there are shows that are like that - not at top form they can still beat most other shows out of the water, and I definitely think TWW is among them now. Besides, how can I not want to know what happens to these people?!

No, I hadn't!

He's a dwarf?! He's a DWARF?!

(Sorry, excuse me while I fall off my chair in amusement at this. I mean, I know digistal wizardry means there is no height bar to these things, but LOL at the idea of mini-Richard...)

Mind, I suppose I can see Martin Freeman playing a character who's a younger Ian Holm. That could work.

Thanks for that. It amused me mightily...

Oh, yes, I mean, Thorin; it could come off. It's just I have this awful feeling that I can't be trusted to see it in the cinema without giggling a lot now. (Which may not be a bad thing...)

 - they like a challenge, maybe?
