Fay is rather nice

I bite my tongue regarding to what I said about tropical storms. There have been windier ones but this is a tropical storm that I’ve experienced like no other. It’s a slow moving system so it has been sitting on top of us longer than a normal tropical storm would. I’ve never seen so much rain! The entrance to my neighborhood is terribly flooded and ( Read more... )

La Wintour is curious as to what that substance is that's flooding your neighborhood? What's it called? Wa-, wa-, wa-ter?

Oh, and that drink as well. What is it?

I wonder if Ms Wintour will create some kind of flood themed photoshoot in a future Vogue spread. ;)

I actually forgot what the drink was, but it had Grey Goose vodka in it.

La Wintour is thinking Noah's Fashion Arc: two designs from every important designer, braving the waves of mediocrity and tastelessness.

We're fine. The flood has since vanished.

I also heard that the storm was collecting strength from all the wetlands and lakes in Florida. Not sure if that's really true though. Hmmm

I need to work out and especially gain some muscle mass in my arms. :(

WoW those manmaids are creepy! But those glasses are so you!

You live in Melbourne right? They totally showed footage of Melbourne, FL on our evening news tonight!

Yup! That's pretty cool! I know Melbourne was aired on The Weather Channel, but I guess that's because Melbourne got the direct hit and worst flooding.

I thought it never stopped raining in Florida in the summer. I've heard that from May-August Florida is like Seattle.

Actually

I've never experienced rain like I've experienced it here, in Okinawa. You look out the window and it's pouring and 5 min later it stops and 10 min later it starts again.

And I have to walk through it all the time, just suck it up and get soaked. I live on a Marine Corps base and if a marine sees you walk about with an umbrella...well, you'd never hear the end of it.

Oh no, they don't call it the Sunshine State for nothing! Don't get me wrong it rains often but usually (the way it's been within the past 10 years anyway) is that we'll go weeks with lots of heat and when it does rain, well it pours. :)

Are you in the Marine Corps yourself or living with one of your parents? I'm jealous that you get to live there! I bet it's pretty awesome.

I'm in the armed forces. Navy. I've been in Oki for like a month so far and I have another 23 months 'til I'm done here and get stationed somewhere in the states. Honestly, I really didn't experience much culture shock when I got here. Sure, I got all giddy and excited when I saw all the signs in Japanese and I was all "where the fuck am I...?"

But I was eating sushi and udon noodles when most people my age were tuning into Hey Arnold.

: )
