I was psyching myself up for the hiatus like, it's only a month, a BUSY month, I've waited a year between chapters for some stories (which is about my rate of production, so how can I complain?) but of course I got to the last line and now I'm like *UGLY SOBBING* <3333333333 XD that was both the best possible place to stop and the most painful place. dgjhgdhjdkhgkjd my brain and my heart will be at war about this for some time.

UNNNNF, ONSLAUGHT. He's so painfully hot I might combust. D: I know I shouldn't enjoy him throwing First Aid to the ground and choking him but I do. (My sick enjoyment aside, I really love how that scene played out--I had been partly dreading some kind of embarrassment-squicky conversation where First Aid breaks the news, but guh, they're connected to Vortex and they know.) I love how despite his anger, Onslaught can switch gears and try to figure out what he needs to do to make this work, or how he can use the situation to his advantage. I love just how he talks to Vortex, also your ( ... )

Thankyou! :D *flaily squee* I'm frankly amazed I've managed to keep it up for so long. I hope I can feel proud of it at some point, right now I'm just tired :P

That final scene was originally the first scene of Chapter 12, but it felt better like this when I was editing, so I put it here instead. I'm very glad I did. Not that I'm indulging in a sinister evil laugh because of the sobbing, not at all. I'm just really happy it has impact :D

Brawl has so much to teach Vortex!

As for the Quintessons, I got it into my head that it might be awesome if they came across Primus while he was in stasis, hacked him, and reverse engineered TF technology from him, then turned him into a production plan(e)t for military hardware and consumer goods (how I love G1). Horrible and dark, but it appeals to me :P (and has probably be done before, but it's not something I've ever come across). Goodness knows where I think the tech came from in the first place. Primacron perhaps? An Allspark? I'm sure I'll figure it out :P

I got to the author's note and went "FFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!" Not that I don't totally understand, but the selfish part of me wants MOAR. You have us so spoiled, and I am seriously impressed by your dedication to keep your updates so regular ( ... )

It's really good to know he still seems like Vortex. And that Bruticus works, too. With Bruticus, I get the impression that he wouldn't be quite so thick if his components all got along and cooperated. But they won't.

With you on how Vortex is one of the few Decepticons who really does fit the 'evil' label.

I am continuously happy he can recognize its the bond making his repeated rapes seem ok, and really disturbed at how the bond overrides his own interpretation of events. I'm so pleased! For me, that's where the horror of the situation lies. He knows what's going on, and understands how his sense of self and his memories are being permanently eroded, but he can't do anything about it. He just has to deal with it the best he can. And yeah, that's a really good point about how Aid hasn't considered how he's treating Vortex. I haven't quite figured out when he's going to start thinking properly about that.

Thankyou for the feedback :D

I'm not sure why I've not gotten around to reading this before, but I ended up tearing my way through the entirety of it in a ridiculously short time. I'm still reeling a little bit, but I wanted to drop off a comment letting you know how absolutely fabulous it is. The layers of complexity, the interplay between Vortex and First Aid, the conflict between and within both gestalt teams, the interfaction politics, the conflicting moralities, everything is just lovely and your writing makes it very easy to connect with the characters.

Looking forward to the end of your hiatus and seeing more of this lovely fic! :)

Wow, thankyou! :D *happydance* I'm really glad you're enjoying it, and that it comes across like that. I'm so happy it works as something you can read through in one go as well, as I haven't had the chance to check that yet. :D
