The Phenomenon of Flight Between DEN - ATL

I have absolutely no idea why, but for some ridiculous reason, flights from Denver to Atlanta ALWAYS run about $100 more than any other domestic destination. But today it got worse. Last I checked, it was $200 + taxes/fees to fly DEN to BWI, but today  DEN to ATL jumped to $385 (and that's for off-peak from Air Tran) + taxes/fees. That's wierd.... 'cause flights from MSP to DEN went from $218 to $154 overnight 2 nights ago.

First off... LOVE the icon!!!

Second... Yeah, it has never made any sense to me that flights between two such large and busy airports would be so damn high. :( But it's always been that way, adn now it's gotten worse.

I do know that United just made a huge cut, and with Denver as a hub, that could have influenced the fares.

Airplanes are dumb. That is all I have to say on that topic.

But I am sorry you might not be able to make it. From what you tell me there may very well be a telethon or at least a kidnapping in the middle of the night.
