[The feed clicks on to show a house. You may have seen this house before, Route - it's by the breeding center, and inhabited by a little squadron of tennis players. It's been seen over the 'Gears once or twice before, too ( Read more... )

Just spray 'em with Repel.

[ she says from her backyard, because they're obviously so far apart that this needs to be video.

Or maybe it's just the giant dragonfly occasionally swooping down from above that's keeping her from harassing Yukimura in person. ]

I mean, if you mix it with water, it'll keep the Pokémon-- Narcissus, hey-- away!

I'm not sure that would be healthy for the plants, though.

[That doesn't look particularly safe - what are you doing, Rise?]

Are you all right?

It's okay! Aerith and I tested it out in Violet forever ago, and it doesn't hurt them-- [ and she ducks again. There's what sounds like a war cry from overhead. ]

I'm just getting to know this guy! I don't think he's all that used to cute girls--

Then I'll have to try - [He winces, watching her.]

Maybe you should put him in a Pokeball, he seems a little upset.

I wasn't planning to, but that's a good point. I'll have to be careful.

That's an excellent suggestion. Hopefully I won't need any guards, but you never know.

You had creatures getting into your gardens in your world?

Hmm, someone seems to have repainted the house.

...And I'm not sure about other plants, but it probably wouldn't be wise to plant berries, for that reason.

Someone did. Do you like it?

Yes, I'm thinking I'll avoid planting berries, at least until I figure out a way to keep wild Pokemon away.

It looks quite nice, actually. Someone did a good job with it.

You could spray some of the area nearby with Repel, perhaps, but I don't know if the plants themselves would have an adverse reaction to that.

I agree.

And... yes, I've considered that. But I wouldn't want to damage the plants, particularly not if I end up growing anything edible.

[So...much...painting. But at least it's done now, and he finally feels clean again. Finally.]

According to the database in the PokeGear, your Meganium's breath has the ability to revive dead grass and plants. Not that I foresee that ever being a problem, but it's an interesting point of note nonetheless.

[And Yukimura is very pleased with it.]

With luck, I won't have to worry about dead plants, but that's a good thing to know. These creatures do have some odd abilities, don't they?

I doubt it'll ever come down to luck. [And he smiles slightly at that.] But I agree, it's quite intriguing; I've been looking at some of the data the Gear has on the various Pokemon in this world lately, and some of the results are rather surprising.

Really? I'd be interested to hear what you've discovered. [A smile.] But pace yourself. We don't need anyone else obsessed with data.

Yes, they're awfully useful to have around - when they're not causing trouble.

Causing trouble isn't entire detrimental. Think of the entertainment value.

It is quite entertaining - at least, up until the point where you have to take care of the damage they've caused.
