[The feed clicks on to show a house. You may have seen this house before, Route - it's by the breeding center, and inhabited by a little squadron of tennis players. It's been seen over the 'Gears once or twice before, too ( Read more... )

[So...much...painting. But at least it's done now, and he finally feels clean again. Finally.]

According to the database in the PokeGear, your Meganium's breath has the ability to revive dead grass and plants. Not that I foresee that ever being a problem, but it's an interesting point of note nonetheless.

[And Yukimura is very pleased with it.]

With luck, I won't have to worry about dead plants, but that's a good thing to know. These creatures do have some odd abilities, don't they?

I doubt it'll ever come down to luck. [And he smiles slightly at that.] But I agree, it's quite intriguing; I've been looking at some of the data the Gear has on the various Pokemon in this world lately, and some of the results are rather surprising.

Really? I'd be interested to hear what you've discovered. [A smile.] But pace yourself. We don't need anyone else obsessed with data.

Ah, it's only a brief indulgence of curiosity, believe me. Apparently, two members of my roster have some form of precognitive abilities, so I'm now interested to see how far that will hold true, if at all.

Is that so? How interesting. You'll have to let me know how that works out. I've never really believed in those things, but I suppose an ability that seems to us to be precognitive could easily have an explanation we simply don't know about.

You might say I've developed something of a fleeting interest in precognition lately.

[But moving on.]

It turned out well, didn't it?

[The house, not his punishment. Though it could really work for both, honestly.]

It did. The circumstances might not have been the best, but you did a very nice job. Let's hope it doesn't need to be repainted anytime soon.

[Stay out of trouble, boys - or at least don't get caught.]

The stains did come off eventually; there's something to be said for that.

[Which is, perhaps, as close as Yagyuu will ever get to actually voicing what a miserable job he found it to be. Particularly to Yukimura.]

With so much of the team present and accounted for now, it's the sort of maintenance that's quickly becoming necessary.

[A slight smile. Of course it was meant to be unpleasant, otherwise what kind of a punishment would it have been?]

That's true. We can't have a house that's in bad repair - after all, we are representing Rikkai, even here.

Of course. Likewise, I hope Sanada-kun approves as much of the work as you do, when he inevitably arrives.

I'm sure he will. Of course, he didn't see it before - or any of the things we've accomplished so far.

That's true. And I imagine your garden will have had some opportunity to come along by the time he's here to see it--though I do understand he and his traveling partner are making excellent time.

Yes. He doesn't appreciate gardening quite as much as I do, but I'll be sure to show it to him anyway. And he is making good time - though perhaps he'd do even better if he didn't have things dropped on his head.

That's one of the hazards of traveling on foot, I suppose. The need to watch one's head.

[And he almost leaves it at that, except that there's a nice coat of paint on the house reminding him that dodging the subject sometimes equates to lying by omission.]

But I'm sure any trouble he's had with such things is only temporary.

That's good to hear. I'd hate for him to arrive with permanent brain damage.
