I love that picture! The relationship between you and your daughter is so clear -- beautiful :)

Yes, I'd love balance too...seems like a daily challenge, no?

Thank you, Robin, I love it too!
I know you juggle a lot in your life, and I'm always inspired by the way you meet those challenges. And you know, I suppose a writer's work is never done. :)

Such a beautiful photo! The very picture of balance to me.

I'm very single-minded with projects, too, and I have big messy piles of my own. So comforting to know you do, too! xo

You are sweet, Amy. It's amazing how fast they grow up--I sure do miss her when she's so far away.
And I'm glad we share a messy pile secret... :)

Heh heh, I thought that was funny too! Well, I could say it's because the young are hot blooded and all that, but I guess I was overdressed and she was working hard helping my husband hoist the Christmas tree up onto the top of the car. It was also one of those odd days when it started out foggy and cold, and then the sun came out with some heat to it.

What a beautiful picture of the two of you. And, I love the Christmas trees in the background. Good luck with your 2012 resolutions.

Yay for balance, and yay for your stopping by here for company and gentle nudges to those stories.

I can see why that is a favorite holiday picture. I was smiling and loving it when the phone rang, and with lovely serendipity, it was my own grown daughter calling to say hello. And I just left that lovely picture on my screen while we talked.

warmest wishes for your new year!

Ah Jeannine, now I feel like I got to visit you! I know you understand the missing-them part as well as the happy-they-are-independent part.

I've been looking for my next short story, and I think I found it today. That is a good feeling! Happy new year to you too.
