1. After a $75 service call, the verdict on our washing machine: (to put it into the eloquent words of a sign at a laundromat in Illinois many years ago) Machine don't warsh no more. And that's after just replacing our refrigerator, oven, and microwave. So it's off to the laundromat today. At least the library is next door ( Read more... )

The snow this year has been terrible!! We want to go somewhere this weekend, too, only the parts of Yellowstone we haven't seen yet are still digging out from winter's 25 feet of snow, and Craters of the Moon is resurfacing all their parking lots, it seems. Not to mention snow and rain in the forecast for everywhere interesting. Sigh.

SO sorry about the washing machine!! It is truly a disaster when those things go out.

Oh, I hope you find somewhere sunny and clear for this weekend. They're predicting that the sun might make an appearance here!

Oh, Lorraine! Hooray on another short short! And what a proud mama you must be! Hooray for your boy and girl, and may the winter weather not get in their way. My dad and brothers used to go winter camping (as in build-your-own-igloo, really and truly) but I never felt the lure myself.

Brrrr...I'm definitely not into winter camping, even with igloos. Just the thought of having to get up at night to find a private patch of snow, yikes!

People camp and swim around here -- but I doubt many will try it this weekend (no snow, but the rain and chill is still around, especially at night). I don't see many people swimming...

Well, the laundromat trip was easy--but finding a good washer will be the tough part.
And yeah, finishing is so satisfying!
