Well, we've already seen what the Doctor's worst nightmare is in the Dreamlord - himself. And of course it was #11, although I don't think it was really irony just a cute visual gag.

Ackk, I think that episode broke me quite badly.

Yeah that's true. But the fears were also about faith so that makes me wonder a bit more. Yeah I think the 11 was them having fun with that.

But you're probably right that it's some version of himself.

Yeah the episode broke me too. I was crying when he left them. It's really very sad.

Amy's door number was 7 and Amelia Pond is 7 when she meets the Doctor, right? So I think that and the 11 were visual references but also intentional.

I'm positive they'll be back for the last two episodes because it seems like we've come full circle. At the beginning of S6, if you recall, Amy and Rory were AT HOME when they got the invitation from the Doctor to come to Utah

Yeah, but chronologically that happened before all this for the Ponds. I kept thinking that too, but TIA Amy was pregnant, and TIA Amy went through all of s6. So she can't have been post-God Complex Amy, I don't think.

I liked this episode a lot. The ending was sort of what I saw coming (I had read the Ponds were leaving) but I didn't expect the Doctor to leave them. It was an interesting reversal of what we usually see AND holy crap Eleven gave a shit about people and things happening around him! Who knew he had it in him!

Oh that's a very good point about the 7. I was wondering if maybe that was something too. I like the references were very blatent.

Yeah but that's what I mean. It's not chronological. It's just one massive loop. I think it's both their past and their future. I could be wrong but I don't think I am.

I'm glad you liked it. I enjoyed it a lot myself, way more than I expected to. I loved the last 15 minutes a lot though and it was really interesting the way him leaving them came about and YES HE HAS FEELINGS!!! Frances will be happy! :)

LOL Love your icon!

But they can't go through all of s6 again because they just did it, unless the Ponds spend the rest of their lives trapped in this endless time loop. Which I guess isn't outside the realm of possibility for Moffat. But this Amy knows River is her daughter, and TIA Amy didn't.

Yeah that's true, I don't know I just feel like there's got to be at least some connection there because definitely they'd been living without the Doctor for a while before they were summoned to UTAH - but also maybe the events of the season have changed the outcome and that will be what breaks the time loop. IDK I just know it's timey wimey and it makes my head hurt LOL

This episode broke my brain with the timey-wimeyness, but I still loved it to itty bitty bits. And yes, I bawled rather unexpectedly at the end when I realized it wasn't a fake out. He was really leaving. I suppose the new question is, does this Amy still have faith?

The timey-wimeyness is mind hurting definitely. The end was so sad. And that's a very good question.

I'm quite sure the Doctor saw himself in room 11. He said something like "Of course it's you" when he looked inside. He fears himself because he always ends up hurting the people he cares about.

I cried at the end. I dont' think it's the end of them either, but it means it's getting NEAR the end of their time with him and I am just not ready for that.

Did you love when Rory went "Somebody hit me. Was it Amy?"

I loved when Rory said that! I especially loved when the Doctor replied by laughing!

Ha yes I'd forgotten that line but it totally made me laugh aloud at the time. Oh Rory...

Yeah I think you're right that it was some form of the Doctor himself behind that door. And as for why he fears himself your reasoning makes sense. Also I think it scares him how much faith people have in him because I think his greatest fear is letting them down and failing.

I'm not ready for them to leave either. I can't quite picture a world without Rory, Amy and Eleven together in the TARDIS.

BWAH that line was amazing. I loved it so much! Oh Rory! ♥

To add more to my idea bout the Doctor being his biggest fear (was reading one of your comments above about the faith bit). He fears the amount of faith people put into him. It's always their total faith in him that gets people killed. People have died willingly for him, sacrificed themselves, and that terrifies him.
