This is such an emotionally raw chapter for both the Doctor and Rose, but I'm so glad they get so much of it out of their systems.

It is very emotional, isn't it? I think this was something they both needed. The Doctor has to come to terms with what he's done, but at the same time he needs to stop beating himself up for it, and Rose needs to shed some of the guilt she has over her husband's death. Until that's done they'll never be able to move forward into a relationship.

Thank-you for giving me something really heavy in emotions, I've been "craving" it.

The Doctor and Rose have a long road of healing ahead of them and these things cannot happen overnight. The time jumps are necessary to show that healing without adding another 50k to the story. Although if you want some of the holes filled you're welcome to request such things over here: http://lorelaisquared.livejournal.com/107509.html... )

Stunning visual on the space jelly fish. I love how you slowly built up to the Doctor's melt down as his emotions and guilt truly came crashing down around him. Of course it would be Rose there to catch him. That is what she's always done. Oh, and the end when she finally let go of her own guilt! The two of them clinging together in mutual grief and comfort was quite lovely. As always, I anxiously await your next chapt.

Thank you. I'm quite proud of the space jelly fish actually. The whoniverse can always use more space-sea life!

This was a wake up call for the Doctor and it forced him to face the emotions he'd been repressing since they saved the universe. I think he knew it would catch up to him eventually but I don't think he was expecting it to happen quite this way.

Rose understands exactly how he functions. She knows how he deals with things and she knows that he needs someone to force him to let it out or he'll just bottle it up. Also, Rose relates in many ways - not quite on the same level but she definitely understands what it's like to carry the weight of such guilt. They both needed each other to start to grieve and together they'll start to rebuild.
