Felix has broken down the various methods of channeling magic into three basic types.
  • Type A - Mental : Used entirely on a mental level, through simple concentration or visualization
  • Type B - Material: Requires the channeling of magic through a physical item, such as a wand, staff, ring, etc.
  • Type C - Verbal : Uses some form of spoken or ( Read more... )

Name: Ashura-ou
Title and/or Origin of magic: His magic is called his "Talent" and is based around the element of fire
World of Origin: Shurano
Capabilities: Ashura can summon fire through mental manipulation and move it around the battlefield. It can be as light as a spark or huge as a tsunami of fire shaped like a phoenix.
Census link (if applicable): n/a atm
Method Classification: Type A though sometimes Ashura uses Type B via the use of physical motions to direct for higher concentratin, but it is not necessary
Weaknesses: Using his power tires him. He will eventually run out of juice, so to speak. If his attention is split overly much it becomes hard for him to direct the fire, and of course being knocked out renders his power useless as well
Notes: n/a right now

Name: Yuan Ka-Fai
Title and/or Origin of magic: Half-elven mage (formerly with angelic spells, but those were taken by the castle)
World of Origin: Aselia
Capabilities: Lightning strikes at a number of different strength levels, mana transfer from himself to another caster, temporary paralysis, channeling mana into sword techniques, mana senses that let him tell when something or someone is magical
Census link (if applicable): Here!
Method Classification: A/C - some techniques can be used purely by concentrating, but anything with significant power requires a chant for focus.
Weaknesses: Flooding the area with water energy will impair his ability to cast, since he draws on ambient lightning energy, and according to his world's elemental rock paper scissors, water opposes lightning. He also has trouble damaging earth-elemental targets. And of course, it's limited by his personal energy reserves.

Name: Grimoire Weiss
Title and/or Origin of magic: Grimoire Weiss; source of magic powers (the Sealed Verses) is classified as "noirant".
World of Origin: Earth, no geographical location stated, 3361 A.D.
Capabilities: Dark offensive spells that take the form of various things such as hands, lances, etc. A link will explain it better.
Census link (if applicable): Here!
Method Classification: Type A/C. The words are written inside him, he has to use them mentally.
Weaknesses: Magic can be weakened by certain individuals (Grimoire Noir, Devola, Popola) or any high-level magical attack. He depends on blood (Shade or human) to recharge quickly. Once his magical energy reserve is out, it takes a while to recharge again.
Notes: N/A for now, I guess.

Name:Duke Pantarei
Title and/or Origin of magic: Mage.
World of Origin: Terca Lumireis
Capabilities: Duke's canon spells are in the link, but as he's somewhat of a spell-crafter, I'll be eventually expanding his fire, light, wind, dark, unaligned, and lightning spells. He doesn't seem to be able to use earth or water, and thus ice, but as magic is math to him, this could change?
Census link (if applicable): Just did this(cough)
Method Classification: A/C. Verbal isn't fully necessary at times, as they seem to be mnemonic devices (change, occasionally omitted nearly completely)
Weaknesses: Disturb the casting, run out of the area of effect. There's magical rock-paper-scissors that one can be immune to the effects of his spells. Inhibit his concentration and he can't get the aer to flow to the spell.
Notes:Because Duke is a massive cheat Due to some sort of in-tune-ness with magic, Duke will regain what he spent in casting a few seconds after he cast it. (It's as annoying as hell in-game because it means he'll always be able to cast ( ... )
