Felix has broken down the various methods of channeling magic into three basic types.
- Type A - Mental : Used entirely on a mental level, through simple concentration or visualization
- Type B - Material: Requires the channeling of magic through a physical item, such as a wand, staff, ring, etc.
- Type C - Verbal : Uses some form of spoken or written words.
As shown below, it is possible to be a combination of two or more of these types.
