"Not toying with another life because I no longer have it, Loraine. Toying, maybe."
Just say it. Even if you're unsure. You want her to stick around."Do I feel for you? Yeah. I feel for you more than I have felt for any one, human or vampire, in a long while. More that just want, lust, desire. I feel passion. Strong passion
( ... )
Could be he's just saying what you'd like to hear. But the more Loraine thought, the more she realized staying was what she wanted.
"I'm not sure how things really work... your world is still new to me but wouldn't it have just been easier to turn me?" Loraine turned to face him but he was lost among the stars.
"If I were turned I would be... yours and wouldn't that satisfy your want and desire?" It wasn't meant as an accusation, but it sounded like one. The words felt childish, choppy and like a cliche line from a movie but Lor didn't know how else to ask.
"Why let me walk away if-" No. Stop asking. Loraine grew silent but she didn't walk away.
Magnus's head snapped down and he snarled. "You don't want my life. I don't want you to have to face my kind of life. And yes. It would have been horribly easier to turn you, instead of all this prancing human stuff, but you're human, you have a life, a job, work to do, and....I don't have any right to take that away from you. I have no right to say, 'hey, you wanna suck blood for the rest of eternity? Come here and I'll drain you and give you that dream life
( ... )
Loraine looked away for a moment his words sinking in. Her mind was taking a hundred things in at once. What would it be like to be what he was? Never see the sun, a life of seclusion, feeding of the coppery river within walking talking cattle.
It seemed like something incomprehensible. Unreal. But here he was, right in front of her. The first person to spark something in her. Something other then this pathetic life drive for law. And she didn't even know his name.
No. Stop thinking. Do.
Looking up Loraine stepped close to him, her body before his. Lor's hands reached up to neck and jaw. "No more questions." Her eyes were filled with determination as she pressed her lips against his softly.
For some reason, something swirled within him when she did this. It was different when you weren't the first kissing someone, and it triggered an upstir of emotion, some of it he hadn't felt in centuries. Interesting.
He wondered if it would last.
But fimiliar it was even so, and he kissed her back gently before leaning down, picking her up so that he was cradling her in his arms, and smirked at her. Then he began to walk farther away from the club, farther away from it all.
His lips found hers once again, but for only a brief moment. "I have one more question for you. What do you want?" He continued to mosey down the street, holding her loosely, but making sure she didn't fall. The night was shortening quickly, but Magnus felt like he had all the time in the world.
Lorain couldn't supress the smile as he picked her up. It was a strange combination of comfort and desire swimming together. As long as Lor could remember she'd never felt like this. Ever.
And she liked it.
The club's loud music was almost dead when he broke the silence between them.
"You name could help." Her eyes locked with his, seeking the spark he'd set aflame in her within his own eyes.
"But other then that, I don't know." Her head leaned close into his, her lips brushing the corner of his lips somewhat playfully.
A spark, there was. But a very unsure spark, though it was not dim. Just weary, and he looked back at her with the same intent she looked at him with

"Do I have to know what I want? I should, but do I really have to know right now?"
Magnus...
She grinned as he licked her upper lip. He was playful and somehow she found that more appealing, more attractive then the compulsive passion.
"What do you want? And while we're on questions, where are you taking me?" Lorain laughed softly as she bit down on her lower lip. Her deep dark brown eyes saught and found that spark that let her know, or at least think what she felt was mirrored in Magnus.
Closing her eyes Loraine rested her cheek against his the smile remaining on her fair face.
Oy. Cuddling. One thing that was very hard for him to deal with, but for her - yes, someone else - he tolerated it, and even nuzzled her a bit before stopping his steps.
"Uhm. I wasn't...really taking you anywhere. I was just sort of walking with you in my arms." He shrugged. He hadn't had anything in mind, really, and the sky was beginning to turn purple, pink...
Magnus winced when he saw this and sighed deeply, "No, you don't have to know right now. Because unfortunately, I won't be around to hear it. The sun'll roast me if I don't get in doors soon." He almost, at this moment, regretted being a vampire. It would have been sort of cool to have an actual conversation with someone for once.
"As for what I want, next time I see you I'll be sure to answer." Reluctantly, he put her down, and it happened to be very close to where she lived.
Far from where he 'lived', but that was okay. It's what speed was for. To get the hell out of the sun.
"Now the question is will I know you're there or will I be surprized by a jealous outburst?" Grinning she couldn't help herself but shook her head.
"Don't answer that." Loraine waited a moment after being placed on the ground before stepping into Magnus, closing the distance between the two. A slender finger reached up and touched his lips to silence him from saying anything.
Lor had become very courageous in such a short time, her actions, her movements even her words were void of the fear she'd been striken motionless back in the alley with. It was gone from her now, the terror and the doubt.
"Goodnight." Unsure of what else to say or do Loraine waited. It seemed like everything was on Magnus' terms.
After licking her finger, he leaned down to her, kissed her lips very, very gently, not full of passion or flare or hatred or love, but just simply said his goodbye.
He had decided the best way to answer her first question was just to grin, his fangs glittering brightly. He was a vampire, after all, and it was almost to remind her that she had just found spark, found life, in a vampire.
His arms had instinctively wrapped around her to keep her close, but the sun was coming up quick, and it was definitely time for him to leave.
He leaned down one more time, to her neck, and kissed it once, twice, three times before whispering in her ear: "Good morning. See you tonight."
And with that, he had disappeared, the words still lingering in the air delicately.
The sensation lingered on her lips and neck for some time, even longer then the words signing softly in the air.
His grin, that simple fanged grin caused the grin to brighten on Lor's lips. But once he was gone doubts began to swirl. Doubts about what he's said earlier, about experiments and about the hundreds of dead.
How could something like that go... unnoticed? But the more she thought about it, the more Lor rationalized the situation. How many missing person were reported a month. How many deaths were reported as accidents, how many people disappeared without a soul to report them gone.
It saddened her softly. If it weren't for her job nothing, no one would no Loraine had disappeared. Who would care?
Loraine climbed the steps of her appartment building and opened the door. She took one last glance at where she had stood, Magnus kissing her neck and whispering softly in her ear.
"Good morning. See you tonight." The words still echoed as she entered the elevator and reached her room.
