Le sigh....

Today was the last day of classes. I still have three finals (French, Friday, 2 PM; PDAP, Saturday, 8 AM; o-chem, Monday, 8 AM), but I'm not really thinking about them right now... I'm just kind of sitting here in a quiet melancholy state ( Read more... )

...I had something sarcastic and witty to say, but it totally fled. So instead, I'll just offer you the second part of what I was going to comment:

it's not creepy, and it's not unhealthy... at least not from my perspective, which includes a teacher that I had an incredibly hard time leaving her class two years ago. Reading your journal entries about Dr. J constantly reminds me of my obsession, if you want to call it that, with Ms. D, my junior-year English teacher, who was (is) incredibly cool and so excited about literature that she made me enjoy explicating books - which up until then I hated. And her dad also died partway through spring semester, which hurt because it hurt her... I really didn't want school to end that year, because it meant I wouldn't be in her class anymore. So... I guess what I wanted to say is, I have some idea what you're going through. And he'll remember you. Trust me on that.

Thanks for your kind words, Sarah. *le sigh* Well, at least he'll have that book; that's something. I think probably a lot of us have that one teacher we just adore and at the end of the year, it's hard.... I guess all I can do is wait and see what happens, how much I get to see him next year and whatnot. Sigh.

Hmm, 28 Days Later - what do you think of the movie? I thought it was great; I bought it on video after renting it.

I really enjoyed it. I found it extremely suspenseful, and quite dark and scary; the 'zombies' weren't like any other movie zombies I'd ever seen, and the main characters were so much more than zombie fodder. Like I said, the whole scene in the house at the end, with the women in their dresses hiding, and the main character gone absolutely batshit insane, but understandably so -- ooooh, it gave me chills. Definitely a good movie.
