Birds and Rock Band and sushi, oh my!

Ben and I had an action-packed weekend. First we went birding. Ben saw his first Western Bluebird (flew up to us in the parking lot as we were leaving!), and it was a good day for raptors, as we saw Cooper's Hawk, Red-tailed Hawk, two nesting Red-shouldered Hawks and a Turkey Vulture.

I totally thought you said that you two went birthing. I wasn't really sure what to make of that XD

I love the hummingbird, but that's because hummingbirds are my favorite birds :) I got to hold one once and it was amazing (even though he was likely having a heart attack. But the feel of his wings beating in my hands was great).

Of course, that's when I got to be baffled at a classmate because she looked at me horrified when I captured it (it got stuck in our classroom) and said, "You can't touch it! The dust on its wings will come off and it won't be able to fly anymore!"

It took a lot of restraint to not laugh at that...

I love hummers too :) I'm wearing hummingbird earrings right now, in fact! And... wow. Biology!fail on your classmate's part!!!
