RIP Sherman.

Sherman is gone. He had lost 10 pounds since his last visit... they thought his heart was going. He was able to walk into the clinic on his own and he went for a walk this morning. His week was full of pork chops and scrambled eggs.

Mom said it was very peaceful.

Love you, Sherman-dog. <3

Aw, it's so true. I hope they are tearing around like goofballs somewhere right now :)

*hugs* My mother called yesterday to tell me that she'd decided to put my 19 year old dog, Corky, to sleep. Corky had a great old life. According to the vet, she simply "outlived her brain"--her body was in pretty great health, but she was so senile that she would stand for hours barking at nothing, and she had stopped wagging her tail months ago. She also became extremely incontinent. :(

Old dogs, especially those we grew up with, are such treasures. Maybe Corky & Sherman are together. I spent all day yesterday thinking about all the grand adventures I had with my dog when I was a little kid. It's crazy to think that she's been mine since 4th grade, and now I'm 26??

I teared-up a little, but I've been expecting her to pass away for years now, and I know she didn't suffer. I'm glad you and I are both at peace, and that Sherman and Corky are as well.

*hugs again*
