Maybe not always...

Okay, sometimes the Front Range isn't beautiful at all. Like today, for instance, when I couldn't see it. It was behind all those clouds dumping rain and snow and everything. Walking to lunch today, I even had some bits that had frozen on the way down bouncing off of me ( Read more... )

Hooray!!
I'm so glad to hear that you got the job and that things are looking good and all. If I ever get home before 10pm your time I'll give you a call and congratulate you properly and find out details.

Thanks. In general, I agree, but... My office is next to the project's marketing guy. He has a button stuck to the wall next to his name plate; it says, "Saepe summa ingenia in occulto latent". It was presented to him by one of our engineers, who claims it means "Often the highests minds/talents lie hidden in darkness". Maybe it's just a good joke, but it may mean there's hope here.

Maybe it's because he's Latvian?

Or maybe he's being nice so we'll let him keep his office.

It's something close to that, anyway - I don't actually know Latin, but I seem to have a good enough languages skill that I can fake it well enough to get a guess at it.

I'm glad you're enjoying it.

The last time I had an office, my 'scenic view' was a sewage treatment plant, so the Coors plant would seem to be a step up from that.

Hey, this sounds like not a bad setup at all.

By the way, how's your weekend looking? Got a chance to socialize a little? I'll probably be able to make some free time if you want to hang out a bit.

Yeah, I kinda like it. :{)}

I'm going to try to make it to dinner at Mountain Sun tonight. How do I find you guys?

BTW, this project I'm on is built around an embedded Linux kernel,so I have to learn more fast (learn more than I know and more fast than I have been). Can I hire any of you as tutors?

Dunno about the weekend yet, which should mean there's spare time. I see that Matt Meaghan will be performing Saturday night at Masa Grill and Sunday night at Penny Lane, so I'd like to get to one or both -- most likely the Lane. Other than that, I'm unbooked.

Aarghhhh... what was I thinking? I'm tied up Saturday afternoon and evening. A former boss does an annual bash and I promised long ago I'd be there. It wouldn't break Martha's heart if I canceled, but no.

Besides, it's the only chance I get all year to play bocci.
