I don't know a thing beyond the basic concept, but I'd like to learn.

It is very interesting stuff! I don't have any of my old textbooks on me, but if you were able to find some in the library, I'd be happy to teach you some.

I haven't been to the library yet, but I've been meaning to go.

My name's Will, by the way. Will Borden.

A friend of mine is working there now, Lieutenant Uhura...she could probably help you. She's really smart!

Nice to meet you, Mr. Borden. My name is Pavel Chekov! I am an Ensign aboard the USS Enterprise.

Well, that depends on what KIND of transporter theory you're talking about.

Ah, well, I suppose that's true. But if there are others aside from the ones I learned at the Academy, then I would still be very interested to learn about them.

Oh there are loads! Some work like yours do -- breaking things down to their molecules, sending the molecules to a location and then reassembling them. Very risky business. Another theory creates a hole in time and space through which people and things can be moved. Less risky on the personal level, more risky on the universal level. That is one machine you do not want breaking down. And then there are the Elders of V'latcha'ktar, who apparently transport through prayer. It's the wildest thing.

Wow! I had no idea those were out there! How much do you know about those?

It was a curse to make people be extreme in their beliefs I think. I knew at least two of the people cursed and they're usually good people.

Transporter theory? Like beam me up Scotty? There are ones to get to the beach?

That would definitely explain the reactions, then. Especially how extreme they were.

Da, there are. It's how I got to the City without going through the forest when I first arrived.

Yup. Hopefully it won't happen again for a while.

I'm going to have to check that out. The forest isn't that horrible but I'd love to see the transporter.

Not that horrible? Really? I heard there were monsters in there!

As for the transporter, I'm going to go take a look later today, if you want to come along, Kitty.

I'm fairly sure the ones on the beach work by folding space.

looking4wessles May 31 2009, 15:59:36 UTC
Folding space? Would you tell me more about that?

Reply

wwjyd May 31 2009, 16:03:03 UTC
I don't know much more about it than how the fold makes two distant points come together. I'd explain it more but that technology doesn't quite exist in my universe.

So...it is like those places are right next to each other, rather than moving particles through space?

Hey Pavel! What's up?

[ooc: Yeah, Clyde is too cool to reply to what was in the entry. Are we going to assume the soccer match has already happened? Were they in the same teams or not? Who won?]

Cylde, hello! I am reasearching other types of transporter theory outside of my home world's currently. What about you?

[ooc: Cylde, y so awesome? Ummm....I would say yes on assuming? I'm gonna say they were on opposite teams. As for winning... XD I vote the score got so garbled between competitive teams that both sides say they won ]

Er... I've been relaxing, hangin' about... Found some films from the future! Pretty cool stuff.

[ooc: Great!]
