"My room is clean," says Nate. "Grandpa Ackles' room is clean, and Grandma and Grandpa Padalecki's is too. I'm gonna help with dinner, but you guys are going crazy. I'm not contributing to mass hysteria." He glances up. "Besides, I'm gonna let everyone coo over me as soon as they get here, so I'm planning to be vital."
"Attracting grandparental attention?"
"You can thank me with tons of awesome Christmas presents," says Nate.
Jensen grins. "You're good people, kid."
"Awesome. Presents," says Nate, enunciating clearly. He puts his earbuds back in. "Go find a turkey."
