Jared doesn't like Thanksgiving as much as Christmas, because Christmas is an opportunity for everyone to love him and give him presents and generally worship the awesomeness that is him. He's tried to convince people that Thanksgiving is a good time to give thanks for him, and his parents always do, but he has trouble making anyone at school really embrace it.

"Your ego is gonna explode some day," says Danneel.

"Like a balloon," Aldis adds. "Or bubblegum."

"Probably bubblegum," says Chad. "Jared's ego is totally pink and sparkly."

"I'm thankful for you," says Jensen, kissing him on the cheek. Jared beams.

Jared's roommates are kind of scary. There's Adam, who's nice, but Jared thinks he must be a Twihard or something, because he glitters at all times. And Jared is gay, yeah, but he's not Adam levels of gay. Adam is so gay he makes Jared feel like a slacker

Jensen knows that he should spend his holidays with his parents, but it's difficult, knowing that if he were at Green Gables, he would have Jared in his arms, and he wouldn't have to worry that someone would see them. He's grown so used to the freedom of Redmond, of their own home with their own rules, that to be in his house with his parents who can never know the truth of him is too much

I see now that we were supposed to pick a holiday. Oops. Uhm, two come to mind, outside the regular ones. (Which you're free to pick instead, if you like.) Tolkien Reading Day and International Literacy Day. Both days that might make more people come into the bookstore, much to Bernard/Jensen's(?) annoyance. (I tried to find a Drinking & Smoking Day but apparently there is none. Hmph.) Tolkien Reading Day on first look seems to have more potential but whatever floats your boat. *hugs*
