Natalie verse, Christmas (if you don't accept the prompt someone gave before, because it was too specific) or Father Day (if you do;)).

When Natalie was four, she asked Kyle, "Can we send daddy something?"

Kyle stared at her. "For what."

"For father's day," said Natalie. "It's soon."

"He's not our dad anymore, Natty," said Kyle.

Natalie ran to her mother and cried at that, but her mother never said Kyle was wrong.

"Do we have to get Jared something too?" Natalie asks.

"We probably should," says Kyle. "Or maybe we can get something for both of them."

"I don't know what we're supposed to get," Natalie admits. "Tools?"

Kyle laughs. "Jared has enough tools, Natty."

"Don't call me Natty," she says automatically. "Mugs?"

"Maybe we'll see something good," says Kyle dubiously.

"Mama was always easy," says Natalie.

"Well, we knew mama better," says Kyle. "But we'll find something okay."

"I think they'll be surprised," Natalie admits.

"Yeah," says Kyle. "But good surprised."

"Yeah."
