Well folks... I’m getting braces on Tuesday--again. Back when I was young, I went through all kinds of orthodontia to correct my overbite and other problems, but I was a noncompliant patient. Damn that sucks. :( I had braces for two years from 7th - 9th grade, and an assload of teeth pulled. Thankfully I never had to do headgear or any of that other painful stuff. Have you lived in the same place your whole life to have the same orthodontist working on you?

Yup, born and raised in Austin, Texas. I lived in Kerrville for a few years when I was in college though.

My husband just got braces on this past March (he's 33, almost 34).

I hope your headaches disappear...

What a pain in the butt! I also ignored the rubber bands, head gear, and now my retainer. I definitely have to start using my retainer before I have to get braces again. I'm sorry you have to go through the braces again and then have the surgery on top of all that! I hope it goes by fast for you!
I almost died when I found out that the orthodontist on our dental plan is my childhood orthodontist, Dr. Hogkins

Wear your retainer, because you certainly don't want to end up like me. Thanks, I hope it goes by fast too.

I don't think the humor of my being Dr. Hodgkins' patient again is lost on him. He had a sly grin on his face the whole time at my consultation.
