Plz expect one more entry before the day ends. Typing words is difficult.

Day 01 → Your favorite song
Day 02 → Your favorite movie
Day 03 → Your favorite television program

This was such a difficult thing to decide. :( The first TV show I thought of was Anderson Cooper 360 asdkha;jaafdag which is not really my favorite anymore.

So in the end, I chose Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations. This will always be part of my comfort-watching more so than any other. Some episodes stand out more, but it almost never disappoints. I think that only one that was a letdown for me was the Saudi Arabia episode? He doesn't just talk about the food, but also the culture that shapes it. I also love the voice-overs; it's very good writing.

This is the start of the Mexico episode and it's probably one of my favorite. I loved that he included his friend's journey back home into the narrative, it really underscored something poignant about food and memory:

To prepare for the next item on the everyday meme, I hunted down an old post I did about books on my old journal. Augh, I was so twee. X( I think my reading preferences have changed little since then, though. Take listing favorite books for example:

Five Favorite Books as of right now, ask me again tomorrow.

1. Death Is a Lonely Business by Ray Bradbury
2. The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay by Michael Chabon
3. The Black Dahlia by James Ellroy (best crime novel I've read)
4. The Name of the Rose, Umberto Eco
5. Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norell, Susanna Clarke
6. Girl's Guide to Hunting and Fishing, Melissa Bank
7. The Diamond Age, Neal Stephenson
8. The Charioteer by Mary Renault
9. All the King's Men, Robert Penn Warren
10. Smaller and Smaller Circles, F.H. Batacan

I was kind of scared that there would be too many dicks dude writers, but I think it evened out, somewhat. XD And I guess it's telling that four out of ten books are about mysteries?

meme, television, book discussions, thinky thoughts
