Revealing more of my teenie self
First of all, an amazing thing from fandom. help_haiti is organizing a fic auction to benefit the victims of the recent earthquake in Haiti. There's a rundown of the JE fic writers offering their work here. This is such a great cause and if you're able, I hope you guys decide to partipate. And to those of you promising fic (especially Akame!!!) I'm so proud of you. :'(
So, writing a blog entry everyday is evidently impossible for me! I guess I'll just crank it out as I go along and hopefully will be able to go through all the 30 days. It'll just take longer than a month.

Finding Forrester, also known as the "You're the man now, dog" movie.
Liking this movie is such an embarrassing thing to admit. :( Together with Cameron Crowe's Almost Famous, discovering it probably cemented the idea that I really wanted to become a writer at 14. Or at least made it attractive. There's something about Jamal's circumstance that resonated with me, especially the idea that his inner yearnings were too big for his school, his peers, and his own expectations. It's also a bit of wish-fulfillment, wanting to have a brilliant mentor, since writing is such a solitary thing. Ugh, I loved that typing scene so much, also the speech that Sean Connery read at the end. :'( I still watch this movie every time I catch it on HBO.
Let me also tell you about Almost Famous: I had a classmate who introduced it to me, at a time when we felt we were the only ones who knew of the film or really appreciated it. Adslajklfasf This is the reason why I still have a soft spot for music writing, even though I don't do it myself. This is the only way I can ever justify reading Pitchfork. :|
