Did I always let you down?

Happy New Year, ladies and gentlemen of LJ. I hope you had (or are having) an excellent start to 2010.

Since LJ's been quieter overall generally, you may not have noticed but I haven't been posting much recently. There are a couple of reasons for that, some of which include that since my ankle sprain I've been a little depressed as well as ( Read more... )

I always resolve to do more of X thing, and I never feel like I do enough of it at the end of the year. I need more time in my day >_<

It is a bit like that with resolutions. I don't try to be too strict with them, but I think it's worth having something to work towards every year.

Dunno if I'd call that being a curmudgeon, finding fault in logically flawed arguments usually just means you paid attention to someone who tried to teach you the importance of thinking for yourself. People say Philosophy is useless but I reckon the semester I did on Socrates is the most important thing I ever studied. But anyway...

Indecision is awesome! Specialisation is boring! You don't sit there reading the same book over and over hoping you'll get 'better at reading it'. I mean, if you like the book that's cool. But there's other books to read and this is getting a little laboured so I'm gunna hit 'post comment' now.

Heh. Philosophy has always intimidated me - I never even considered taking it while I was at uni.

I think it's this huge relief that's hitting me now, that I don't have to lock myself into a career, that it's not the worst thing in the world if I don't particularly want to go far with my job but keep my energy for my personal projects...

School was pretty terrible at opening my eyes to other options.

Toss it all in to open a shop selling delicious baked goods. I'll eat your mistakes :D.
