I am the shadow on the moon at night

On a werewolf kick at the moment.

Well, not just at the moment. It's just that I watched Ginger Snaps last night, and am halfway through Blood and Chocolate. I also read Sharp Teeth a couple of weeks ago.

Female werewolf characters are severely under-represented! Especially ones who are strong and clever and get to revel in it without dying for being ( Read more... )

I see that you like werewolves, but what of the other were creatures? Were rat/tiger/boar/bear/badger/bats need your love too! Failing that, they ARE good xp...

I like the idea of shapeshifters better than the idea of other were- creatures. I guess because the name were-rat just looks silly. :P

Also, hooray for XP! It helps you level up in the Nerd class. ;)

Beware of skin shifters, skin walkers, skin changers and insomniacs.
Eyebrows meet in the middle for a reason.
Protrusive canines aren't signs of vampires; misinformation to misdirect.
We hunt when we can, hide when we must, and step carefully every tread, a paw falls full of dread. Forget how many of you we slay, the prey we gain feeds us this night but tomorrow adds another hunter to our trail.
This is why we fail. And a million of you spawn in our place, a million cattle displace the pack that can't avoid your horns, can't hide further when the morning comes and burns us from our lairs.
It all turns, the stories remain, our hides warm your walls. Your cubs hear of our coming and going and one day fill our roles.

You ever read Terry Pratchett's books? There's a female werewolf in it called Angua and she is AWESOME. I recommend "Night Watch" and "The 5th Elephant" for stuff on her. All of Pratchett's female chars are awesome really. Characters period, actually. And stories. And he's hilarious.

I have read some of the Discworld stuff, including Thud! So I've heard a little bit about Angua and have been meaning to read more. Thank you for reminding me. :)
