I enjoyed a trip out of Pune on Saturday. I booked a taxi for 8 am to go about 50 km north-west to visit the caves of Karla and BhajaThere are not as big and famous as Ellora and Ajanta but these two were out of reach for a day trip ( Read more... )

I've had a busy week-end sightseeing (locally) but will post more in the week.

The company flat is on the 8th floor of an apartment block and I have good views towards east the west, perfect for watching the sun

This is considered the most important monument in Pune.

After yesterday's trek up the mountain, today my legs are complaining.

I had a late start and went out just before 12 pm. The sun was shining again and it turned into a hot day (at least for me).

How long does it take to get used to a new and strange environment?
Probably only a few days.

Tonight I was confronted with the feat of crossing a busy road three times and I managed to do it like a native, and survived.
This was in quest of a cash machine that accepted my cards. No luck! I tried four places to no avail.

I was quite surprised to receive a call from my boss in London asking how I was and whether I was worried about "getting mowed down by a machine gun"!
My Indian colleagues didn't really talk about it, which I found rather strange.

I joined the gym next to our apartment block. It's very small but the equipment is good and brand new.
