How long does it take to get used to a new and strange environment?
Probably only a few days.

Tonight I was confronted with the feat of crossing a busy road three times and I managed to do it like a native, and survived.
This was in quest of a cash machine that accepted my cards. No luck! I tried four places to no avail.

Hello Chuck!

According to SteriPEN it "exceeds U.S. EPA Standard and Protocol for Testing Microbiological Water Purifier, destroying over 99.9999% of bacteria, 99.99% of viruses and 99.9% of protozoa".
But it only works if the water is not murky.

Anyway, so far I've only used it for the water to brush my teeth!
