There are most likely several paths to recovery. The trick will be to select the one most appropriate and effective for you. Also, It's great to hear such encouraging news about your injury. How exciting to take that walk with Adrian!! Adrian and I are now FB friends and I'm thrilled to be back in contact with him.
Every little step in recovery is wonderful. I remember when I couldn't walk last year and had to use crutches for some time. Every little bit of progress felt like a major victory.
Your recovery is going to be dynamic. I was originally told I wouldn't be able to put weight on my leg for six MONTHS. I was also told there was a good chance I'd need a cane for the rest of my life. Eight weeks later I was limping around without a cane or a cast/boot. Six months down the road my progress stalled and I needed some more surgeries to further recover. There is a lot of guesswork in the recovery process because every person's progress is different.
Absolutely. Every bit of progress feels like a major victory!
I suppose I'm just slightly concerned that every consultant has different views - and all of this without a scan to check if surgery was successful. So finger crossed!
Progress! Progress! You are getting well, slowly but surely. A walk, with both feet on the ground: how excellent. And the physio will surely improve things more quickly, now that you can manage it. You have been remarkably patient. Thanks for keeping us posted on your progress.
Yes that walk was just lovely! I hope I'll hear back from the hospital re physio. And that we'll be able to go away at the end of September: poor Adrian really needs a holiday!
