It does, and not quite the scenery one expects after the usual Tuscan views on show everywhere.

We are off to Calabria at the weekend.... part of our "Italian Year" !

Love that bridge! :)I only took a look at it, and I thought, "It's a Devil's Bridge". I've already learned to recognize them. So it's medieval?

We have at least one in Bulgaria - it's also medieval, but built upon the remnants of an older Roman bridge.

Oh, it was the Roman Empire here all right. :)

But that bridge is very much Bulgarian late medieval masonry, and the best quality at that. We were under the Ottoman Empire then, but there were some famous Bulgarian master builders. I have no idea what the original Roman bridge was like.

That red phone box must have looked strange in that setting. I love that bridge...I often wish things like that could talk and tell the tales of what has happened over the years.

It was weird, because it took a few minutes to register ! .... then WTF, how did that get here ? It has a note in it to say !
Oh yes, when you think how long things have been around.... it certainly makes one feel mortal !
