Malin had been on her way home when she had noticed an interesting leaflet; Move Your Body with BodyJam!, she had read. Now she was coming from the first practice and she had to admit it: it was frustrating that she couldn't learn even the easiest moves as quickly as some of the other students there. It was unbelievable! She had been into sports as long as she could remember, and now she was failing to move her body in time with the music? She wanted to scream.

She was approaching an electronics shop, silently fuming inside. She couldn't go on like this, she had to practice at home as well. And what did she need in order to practice? A CD player, of course. It was about time for her to get one.

Malin opened the door and entered the electronics shop, looking around. She was frowning, and in a very bad mood, so she hoped for the sake of the shop's owner that the salesman was extremely friendly and helpful today. She glared at the fair-haired man who was ignoring her, and cleared her throat loudly.

Blinking, Tino woke up from his trance and turned to look towards the door where a young woman was standing and looking kinda pissed. When had she arrived? Tino waved his hand and tried to smile even though this girl looked at him as if he was a nuisance. But she was a customer and probably had a good reason for doing that. Hopefully she hasn't stood there for too long...

"Ah, hello! I'll come there in a second after I've-..." He took the Janis Joplin CD out of the player. "...done this..." He almost dropped the Sex Pistols CD while trying to be as fast as possible. "Woah! Just a second, please..." He put the CD back to it's case and sighed in relief before putting it down on top of the CD-player and walking to the female customer, smiling friendly.

"How can I help you?"

You could say that customer service was both one of Tino's fortes and one of his weaknesses. Either the customers viewed him as sympathetic and easy to get along with or they thought he seemed unprofessional. Luckily to him, in America most of the customers seemed ( ... )

Malin crossed her arms over her chest and tapped the floor with her foot, staring daggers through the annoying salesman. Had he just asked her to wait? What kind of customer service was that? She could've understood it if there was some other customer here, but since the man was only playing with CDs... and he seemed to be clumsy, too. She cleared her throat again, getting impatient.

"I need a CD player," she said, her lips turning downwards as her eyes caught the man's nameplate. Vainamoinen. That sounded awfully familiar and Finnish. Well, either this was a completely new Finnish person, which she doubted, or she had already met him online - that irritating guy, yes. The day seemed to get worse by every passing minute.

"Aren't you that friend of Berwald?" she asked.

Yeah, she definitely didn't look happy. Now was the perfect time for Tino to put his limited customer service skills to test. He had worked in this shop for quite a while now, surely he had gotten better at handling people, right?

So, straightening his posture and putting on his "professional"-face, Tino cleared his throat before addressing the girl.

"I see, is there any price limi-Huh? Sorry, what, did you just say Berw-AH!" Tino was easily distracted from his "professional" state. Now he gaped his mouth and stared at the customer. Which was not a very professional thing to do. It sure is a small world... "Could it be... The cousin from Åland..?"

SAUNA GOES BEFORE ANYTHING. I UNDERSTAND YOU. And I'm watching Band of Brothers too so no worries~ find_a_fin November 1 2009, 20:26:03 UTC
New Brampton huh? Tino thought about the distance for a while and decided it wouldn't be so bad. After all, like his boss had told Malin, even though she might've not believed him, Tino was pretty strong. The box didn't feel almost at all heavy to him now, and he could easily carry it to New Brampton, that didn't worry him.

The thing that could make this journey hard for him though, was his traveling companion. And Tino really hoped she wouldn't suddenly find it amusing to start grilling him.

But now was not the time to worry about that yet, and Tino decided to try to stay in high spirits as he stepped outside and thanked her for holding the door open for him. She's not a bad person, she just doesn't like you. I don't know why, I don't know how severe it is, but it's not something you can't fix, Tino, so keep your head up and try again! He continued convincing himself as Malin waved and smiled at his boss before stepping out and closing the door behind her. Straightening his back and fixing the position of the box in his hands, Tino ( ... )

SAUNA IS EVERYTHING needskerries November 2 2009, 17:52:09 UTC
Malin was looking at the sky, wondering if it would start raining later in the afternoon and if she had remembered to wash all the dirty laundry so that she wouldn't have to do that today - she didn't hate housework, but it was still a bit hard to organize her schedule so that she'd have enough time for everything. Usually when she came home from work, she would be too exhausted to even cook anything for herself. On those days she settled on fast food and then promised herself to exercise more ( ... )

AT LEAST WE AGREE ON SOMETHING EVEN THOUGH OUR CHARACTERS HAVE SOME COMMUNICATION PROBLEMS find_a_fin November 3 2009, 21:31:01 UTC
....Owch.

This was really hard. Trying to make friends with someone like her. And Tino was slowly starting to think it would be impossible. But he couldn't give up yet, not when he still had a chance. But before he could answer, Malin had already accelerated her steps and Tino had to take few jogging steps to reach her again. Luckily the box was not a problem for him, otherwise it would've been exhausting to try to keep up with Malin, who was taller than him and walked fast.

"I didn't mean it like that, I'm sorry.." Aaah, what should I say to her... At this rate well reach New Brampton in few minutes and I won't get the chance to fix her first impression... He opened his mouth again, ready to say something incredibly intelligent that would change her opinion about him.

"...Umm..."

Well, that was smooth.

Malin ignored Tino's mumbling for the most part, and kept staring forward. She could have answered. There wasn't anything to hide, really, and she knew that Tino wasn't asking for any specific reason, either. Okay, so he might have been Finnish, and alone that caused many prejudices in Malin. He might have been also a bit annoying, but it didn't mean Malin couldn't answer easy questions like this one. She hesitated a little, but then shrugged indifferently and hastened her steps again.

She sighed and glanced sideways at the man, forcing a small smile on her face. "I'm into BodyJam," she said quickly and shortly, not bothering to explain it any more than that. If Tino was so interested about it, he could go and check what BodyJam was from the Internet. Malin turned her face away - it wasn't that she was embarrassed or anything, but it hurt her pride to give up and talk to Tino voluntarily. She partly blamed her mother for that.
