WHO: Veronika and Jared WHEN: April 21st, early Thursday afternoon WHERE: LU, outdoor sitting area. WHAT: Just a couple of co-workers bonding after a bad week.
Glancing at the sudden arrivals, Veronika remained silent for a moment or two before she flashed the man a pleasant smile as she shook her head in a silent 'no.' Fingers grasping the book once more, she deposited it on her lap as her legs stretched out to better adjust herself on the still rather uncomfortable bench. "It's quite alright," Veronika hummed out, attention now focused on the seemingly energetic dog currently bounding back and forth across the lawn in front of them.
It took her a minute to realize that the tall man was a colleague of hers, someone she had seen a handful of times since her arrival at Liberty University. She didn't think much of it, really, as he most likely belonged to another department, considering that the few times she had spotted him (well, the times she could remember, at least) he had been leaving or entering the building beside the one she her office was currently in.
"I was just reading and I do not mind dogs, really." Another smile. "But perhaps I should go. You seem a bit frazzled, můj přítel
"Stressed or irritated, I cannot tell the difference," Veronika replied as a form of agreement, the smile on her lips turning much more strained. She gave a slight start, however, at the sudden offered cigarette. She didn't particularly indulge in the habit on a daily basis, even though there was usually a pack or two sitting somewhere in her home. Or in her purse, though she only had her lighter with her at the moment.
After this week, however, Veronika found herself unable to resist as she plucked the cigarette from the man's hand. "Thank you. I knew I had forgotten something when I left home this morning," Veronika mumbled with a slight laugh as she fished inside her purse for the aforementioned lighter. "Regardless, if you want to speak, by all means, speak. It seems as though you have much on your mind, Professor, ah-?" She tilted her head, silently asking for his name.
