It was the closest they'd been physically in weeks- months?- but the distance felt no less vast.
"I t-told you to leave me alone."

Letting the door fall shut behind him, he glanced at the sad figure his cousin cut and felt a quick stab of pain followed by immense guilt. Even if Raivis' current situation wasn't at all his fault, he certainly hadn't been helping him this last...while.
He...felt so far away. Part of him knew that Raivis certainly couldn't be more than four steps away from where he was now, but he'd never felt more far away from anyone in his life. Why had he let this happen?
Taking a few steps towards Raivis, he attempted to close the physical distance, if nothing else.

The vehemence was biting. Sharper than glass and more lethal than the clear liquor the bottle on the coffee table likely once contained not hours ago.
No eye contact yet.
"I d-don't want to talk about it, Toris. Leave the keys on the t-table and go."
Potentially none would be forthcoming. Raivis lay immobile.
