The words startled Yao into a full halt. Hairs pricked across the back of his neck, and head stiffly craned in the direction the voice had come.
An angel. Or a succubus. Dark curls fell loosely around shoulders, hips tilted just so, and those sharp, mysterious eyes peered over the rim of stylish sunglasses set upon her nose.
He knew that face- he'd seen it before. On magazine covers, in commercials, maybe even a billboard once. But the name? He had to remember the name...
"Thera," she supplied for him. The woman stepped out of the doorway of the small (but expensive) shop she had been exiting when their paths crossed. The sunglasses were realigned and the short woman walked at Yao's side (when had they started walking again?) "I couldn't help but overhear your difficulties."

"Look, if my parents sent you here..." Option one: If said girl is a matchmaker; consider it. Option one-point-five: If matchmaker is hired by his parents; reject. Option two: dismiss in general.
"No." Yao eyed Thera who was suddenly beside him in a span of two seconds. It seems the woman has no intention of leaving at the moment. "I don't have any girl trouble."

Yao nearly tripped at the other's conclusion. "I- I do not have a boyfriend aru!" Do I even look like someone who has?! The mention of dinner sounded nice...but.
"N-nor anyone for that matter."
