Today was a holiday, by the Japanese calender. Culture Day, to be precise. And what better way to celebrate culture day than with a full cafe at lunchtime? Kiku was in a celebratory mood, in any case. Business was good today. Almost too good. He'd...had to join the waitressing staff again today in order to wait on all the customers who had crammed the cafe earlier in the lunch hour. Things were finally starting to calm down, and there was no longer a line out the door and a time-limit for the guests of the cafe. Kiku would be able to change back into his regular slacks and button down after he waited on just one more table.

His final table was occupied by a single customer in a mask. A cosplayer then? He wasn't sure which series the mask was from, but he did enjoy when the customers got into the proper spirit. Adjusting the pitch of his voice, he greeted him customarily.
"Omattaseshimashita, Goshujin-sama. I am ready to take your order."

As the waitress finally came around to take his order, Sadiq straightened his posture and looked up with a smile that was known to charm. This cafe was totally beyond what he was used to, what with it's bright decor and colorful displays, and little anime creatures turning an otherwise boring cash register into an interestingly cute piece of equipment. Not even American cafes were this obnoxious; most of the ones he'd been to delved more in browns and blacks as a palette. On the flip side, no American cafes he'd been to had waitresses dressed in maid garb. It seemed kinda... Fetish-y ( ... )

Kiku noted the blush straightaway. That, combined with the nervous manner...this had to be a first-timer. He found something kind of cute in first-timers. The same way a puppy running head-first into a wall is cute, or an elderly person trying to use a cellphone is cute. You know you should help, but the urge to keep watching them try to figure out what on earth is going on starts to win out. Luckily for Sadiq, he was more interested in repeat business, but he couldn't help the small laugh that escaped at his obvious inexperience ( ... )

If he had known that Kiku was checking him, the newbie, out like he was, Sadiq would have got up and left in a flustered fashion. Like the virgin he was when confronted with a strange cafe like this, and the apprehension that came with getting his metaphorical cherry popped. The more he sat, the more he wished that he prayed to Allah on a regular basis; ask forgiveness before he was to be unfortunately directed to this shop. As quaint as it was... He still felt a bit creepy looking at the adorable waitress (?), who, as it usually turned out, was probably a good decade and a half younger than him ( ... )
