Hi everyone,

This another picture of that THING I am knitting. It's just a big rectangle of lovely candy colors right now, I'm not sure what it's gonna be. I just wanted to start knitting with this Noro Kureyon yarn to see how it would come out. I have heard such cool things about how great the color blends are. Gawd, but check out that bright ( Read more... )

I wish I had been as orgnized when I started knitting....I did finally learn to keep a copy of my pattern with a photo of whatever I made, sometimes w/ the person it was made for in a scrapbook. You can go one step more and take a piece of the yarn and attach to your description. Your antique box looks great! Perfect. Your dye lot may have been different on that 2nd hank (?, skein, ) of yarn. If not, maybe it was just the way it was dyed. The new hand-dyed colors have more variation than the more consistent older ones. You are doing so well, and I think the garter stitch looks great. Let me know if you ever need to borrow the ball winder for the big old hanks. Saves making Kip (or a chair) be your yarn holder while you wind ( ... )

Hi Kathe!
Ty for sayinmg I am doing so well with my knitting. I received a book today in the mail that I bought off ebay. It's called "Learn to Knit" by Barabara G. Walker. It shows a bunch of patterns (starting with the most basic) and you make 12" x 12" squares of each pattern. Then when your done ---If you get through every pattern she describes in the book, you hook all your 12" squares together and have an afghan. ;)

I think I would really love to make an afghan. Did I show you this one?

(This afghan is why I bought the Barbara G. Walker book.)

Cant wait to see your inspirational knitting book!

Hi Jif! Nice to see you again :) and Ty about Kip's scarf.
Kip loves it too :) ...and after I blocked it, it grew even longer---so now he has NO excuses that this one isn't long enough. ;) Do you knit? I think you'd really love it....very relaxing.

You said: "You seem SO healthy and alive. " ((TY)) I'm very happy and thankful 2006 is over.

I KNOW1!! Isn't the JoLo sculpture wicked? I think it's exciting to collaborate with other artists-don't you?

Hello Lori

Why is knitting so hard for me. I used a size 8 needles and this cheapy yarn to practice. I bought size 11 also which are alot bigger. I can't seem to hold the yarn in my hand comfortably. Your projects are coming along nicely.

I'll keep trying. I've got all the nice yarn--but I can't knit a stitch.
