Okay, finished New Moon!! lol! I finished yesterday but I went to sleep right after ;) So here goes my "review"!

it's much better reading them in english. i was at my bookstore and they had it in bosnian and i was like UHM...NOOOOOOOOOOOO. translations kill books.

ok here goes, i was a bit disappointed with edward's absence for like...15 chapters (more or less whatever) BUT jacob totally made up for it. but every time she would hear edward in those junkie hallucinations of hers i was all AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW even though i realized he wasn't there at the point when laurent wanted to kill her because he would totally come out and save her then no matter the promise he made.

i totally felt for bella throughout that depression, the numbness, the pain, i felt it all!!! it was so good described and written!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and yeah i knew he didn't stop loving her either, but seriously, what would you think if your boyfriend came up to you and told you "oh i don't want you to come with me because you're wrong for me, although i'll always love you
in a way"???? "in a way" being the most important part here because it makes it sound like he doesn't love her the way he did and he just got over it. i would believe him too

I love Jacob but as much as I felt happy for Bella finding some comfort I just couldn't take my mind of the fact that Edward wasn't there!! And when she's pondering whether to kiss Jacob and she hears Edward's voice saying "Be Happy"... THAT BROKE MY HEART!!
In the Laurent situation though, I was sure he would come out at one time or another, just like when she was drowning. I was sure later on he would explain how he saved her and made it so that it would look like Jacob had lol! I'm delusional I guess!

well, in one of her q&a's on her tour people asked her something about jacob and how she feels about people not liking him and she said something about jacob and eclipse... here's the whole bit

Q: Why are there some people who don’t like Jacob Black?

A: She said that she doesn’t understand at all why there are some people who don’t like Jacob Black. Some people think that he has deep, dark, evil motivations, but he doesn’t. Jacob is a “truly good individual”. And then she said something that made us all sit up and listen: “We will see if people can still hate Jacob after Eclipse.” And then she shook her head and said, “We’ll see…”so you see why i think so, or something along those lines at least. but then again, if bella changes in eclipse then what will the fourth book be about? her adjusting to vampire life or something??? that would be kinda stupid

Oh Wow! Maybe he sacrifices himself to save her or something! Or maybe he saves Edward or something! Because the becoming a vampire thing... It's kind of a blessing in disguise isn't it? I mean she would be strong and inmortal, but what about her parents? And what about Jacob? Would he not hate her if she became a vampire? I think he would fight tooth and nail against his nature to hate her but it would be tough!
Also, it would be really hard for Bella not to eat, you know.. PEOPLE. lol! So the vampire thing should be interesting, I wouldn't mind the fourth book being about that ;)

OH OH AND ONE MORE THING ABOUT JACOB. he knew bella so well, yet he asked her not to go to italy and save edward even though he knew she loved him that much. it was so annoying. but i guess it had to do with his irrational behavior but still...I love that he knew her so well as to never say Edward's name, that really speaks in his favour. But I don't feel bad because he asked her to stay, of course he did! Love is selfish and he's in love with her!! He

i agree with you that "new moon" is not as great as "twilight". as touchstonesart put it so damn perfectly, "new moon" lacks the passion that we had read in "twilight".

but i love jacob. and i love alice. i love reading their part in this book. as for jacob being so irrational, well, he does have feeling for bella. and i guess that makes him a bit irrational. i mean, come on, don't you think that edward is also irrational in a way? *g*

yeah, can't wait for "eclipse". i just hope that the book will be available in my local bookstore 'cause buying hardback from amazon.com will be VERY expensive for me (due to my weak local currency against dollar). plus, the book comes out in august, in which 2 weeks prior to that, i will already spend my money for the last harry potter book.

"new moon" lacks the passion that we had read in "twilight"
Yeah, I think that's a very good way of describing it. I think another of the reasons why I loved Twilight so much more was the "discovery" part of it; discovering Edward, what Edward is, discovering what vampires are, discovering love, danger, passion, fear... Everything for the first time.
And of course in New Moon there are discoveries as well, like pain and depression but I think the discovery that Jake is a werewolf and what werewolves are is just not as exciting as it was with the vampires, you know? It's like... a "second-hand discovery" I guess. And Stephenie Meyer really made a point of making both discoveries "paralel" if you think about it, because it worked with Jake pretty much like with Edward: the clues, the agressivity and rejection at first, then the discovery, then the family...

but i love jacob. and i love alice. i love reading their part in this book. as for jacob being so irrational, well, he does have feeling for bella. and i guess that makes him a

Yikes, that's gotta suck big time! Did you have any problems with New Moon? Finding it in your local store I mean. I found it without much trouble here in Madrid (in english of course) but I don't know if they will have Eclipse available the same day it comes out in the rest of the world... I'll have to ask I guess! Or pre-order on amazon because fortunately for me amazon.co.uk and amazon.fr deliver pretty fast and the shipping fees aren't expensive

To be honest, I was lucky. I mean, hardcover is expensive. I couldn't afford to buy at Amazon.com at that time. Actually, I was ready to wait for the paperback issue to be released, then I would buy at Amazon.com. Then, I was at a local bookstore and I saw the special edition of "New Moon". I was so ecstatic, I text messaged shadow_of_me and told her that I'd buy it immediately. We did the book reading together :). Anyway, I think with all the popularity, I hope that "Eclipse" will make it to New York Times Best Seller list. That way, the possibility of it being sold here will be bigger since that

LOOL!!! YEAAAAHH!!!! Now I'm obsessed, like the lot of you!! LOL!

I know some people like New Moon much better than Twilight, but I'm not one of them. Of course you can blame it on the abscence of Edward for 3/4 of the book.
I have to say I do blame it on that a bit. Or a lot. I mean come on, the best parts of Twilight, those that made your hair stand on end, were the ones with Edward and Bella. I mean the line "And so the lion fell in love with the lamb" still makes my heart skip a bit! And then in the second book he suddenly disappears after some stupid incident and doesn't come back for like 17 chapters! WTF? And he really does leave, I kept thinking he was keeping tabs on her somehow, or following her from a distance; like his life now was to live on her shadow to be her "guardian angel" which I thought would be very romantic, but nooooooo the guy's gone to freaking Africa! lol!

Don't get me wrong , I love Jacob and his relationships with Bella, but Edward . . . Edward and bella are love :)Exactly
